Primus Essential Aluminum Pot Set 2.3L

The Primus Essential Aluminum Pot Set 2.3L is an anodized aluminum two-pot-and-pan cookware system designed to feed two to five people on backpacking trips and car camping outings. The set includes two nesting pots, a ceramic non-stick frying pan that doubles as a pot lid, a removable Pot Gripper, and a nylon storage bag. A stove and fuel are not included.

Two Pots, One Compact Package

The Primus Essential Pot Set 2.3L ships with two anodized aluminum pots that nest inside each other, collapsing the entire set to 8.7 inches by 4.2 inches for packing. Anodized aluminum conducts heat evenly and resists corrosion, so the pots perform reliably whether the set rides in a backpack or a camp bin. Having two pots means a group can boil water on one burner while heating a meal on a second, cutting down total cook time at camp.

PFAS-Free Non-Stick Pan That Pulls Double Duty

The included frying pan uses Primus's Ceratex ceramic non-stick coating, which is PFAS-free, containing no perfluorinated compounds. That matters for buyers who want to avoid those chemicals in cookware that contacts food directly. The pan is sized to nest over the pots and seal them as a lid during cooking or transport, so it earns its place in the kit without adding bulk. A removable Pot Gripper handles both pots and the pan safely when they are hot, replacing the need for separate pot handles that add weight.

Stove-Agnostic Design for Flexible Setups

The Essential Pot Set 2.3L is compatible with nearly any camp stove or burner, so buyers are not locked into a specific fuel system. When camp is done, the pots, pan, and Pot Gripper nest together and close with the pan lid; the nylon storage bag keeps the assembled set rattle-free and contained in a pack or vehicle. Invented in Sweden and made in Europe, the set is available in a smaller 1.3L configuration (feeds one to three) for solo and duo travelers.

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Primus Essential Pot Set 2.3L suits backpacking families and small groups of two to five who need a self-contained, multi-pot cooking system that packs down small and works with any stove they already own. It is equally at home on a car camping trip where compact storage and easy cleanup matter.

The set does not include a stove or fuel; buyers who need a complete cook system in one purchase should add a compatible camp stove separately. The 2.3L size is not intended for solo use; the 1.3L Essential Pot Set is the appropriate choice for one to three people.

Common Questions

Does the Primus Essential Pot Set 2.3L come with a stove or fuel?

No. The Essential Pot Set 2.3L includes two nesting pots, a ceramic non-stick frying pan that doubles as a pot lid, a Pot Gripper, and a nylon storage bag. A stove and fuel are not included and must be purchased separately. The set is compatible with nearly any camp stove or burner.

What does PFAS-free mean for the non-stick pan?

The frying pan in the Essential Pot Set 2.3L uses Primus's Ceratex ceramic non-stick coating, which contains no perfluorinated compounds (PFAS). Traditional non-stick coatings sometimes use PFAS chemicals; the Ceratex coating avoids them while still providing a non-stick cooking surface.

How many people does the 2.3L set feed, and is there a smaller size?

The Essential Pot Set 2.3L is sized to feed two to five people. Primus also makes the Essential Pot Set in a 1.3L configuration, which feeds one to three people and is the better choice for solo travelers or pairs who want a lighter, smaller kit.

Can the frying pan be used as a pot lid?

Yes. The ceramic non-stick frying pan included with the Essential Pot Set 2.3L is sized to nest over the pots and seal them, functioning as a lid to retain heat while boiling water or to close the nested set during transport. It serves both roles without any modification.

What is the packed size and weight of the full set?

When nested together, the Primus Essential Pot Set 2.3L measures 8.7 inches by 4.2 inches and weighs 22.5 ounces. The two pots, frying pan, and Pot Gripper all nest inside each other and close with the pan lid, then slide into the included nylon storage bag.
