The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit with Remote Reservoir is a vehicle-specific rear suspension upgrade for 2021–2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL SUVs, delivering 3–4 inches of rear lift on Tahoe and Yukon models and 2.5–3.5 inches on Suburban and Yukon XL models. The 2.5-inch-diameter shock body, remote reservoir, and ICON-engineered coil springs replace stock rear dampers as a complete rear coilover system.

More Rear Travel, Better Damping
The 2.5-inch shock body is larger in diameter than stock, and the increased piston area that comes with it gives the damper more fluid to work with on each compression and rebound stroke. The result is more consistent control across washboard, ruts, and highway miles alike: not just a stiffer or softer ride, but a more composed one. The longer overall shock length also increases total rear wheel travel compared to stock, so the suspension can absorb larger hits before running out of room.
Remote Reservoir for Extended Hard Use
The remote reservoir increases shock oil volume and adds surface area for heat dissipation. Stock dampers subjected to repeated large hits and long dirt-road runs can overheat and cavitate, causing damper fade and a noticeably degraded ride. The reservoir keeps operating temperatures lower so damping stays consistent through the kind of use that would compromise a standard shock.
Adjustable Lift and Vehicle-Specific Valving
Coilover preload adjustment allows the rear lift height to be dialed within the rated range for the specific vehicle: 3–4 inches over stock for most Tahoe and Yukon submodels, 2.5–3.5 inches for most Suburban and Yukon XL submodels. Lift heights are referenced from a stock-equipped vehicle. ICON's vehicle-specific valving is tuned for a sport feel on and off pavement. When paired with ICON front 2.5 Series coilovers, damping is balanced front to rear.

Who This Is For and Isn't
This kit suits 2021–2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL owners who want increased rear lift, more rear wheel travel, and improved damping over stock, particularly those who use their SUV on dirt roads, trails, or mixed on- and off-pavement driving and want a rebuildable, adjustable rear coilover with a remote reservoir.
This kit does not fit any Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, or Yukon XL submodel equipped with Magnetic Ride Control or Adaptive Air Ride suspension. It covers the rear suspension only; front coilovers are sold separately. The rear toe link kit (ICON part 71020) is also required and sold separately. ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) recalibration is required after installation. Common Questions
Does this kit fit all trim levels of the 2021–2026 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, and Yukon XL?
The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit fits most 2021–2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL submodels, but it does not fit any submodel equipped with Magnetic Ride Control or Adaptive Air Ride suspension. Confirm your vehicle's suspension configuration before ordering.
How much rear lift does this coilover kit provide?
Most Tahoe and Yukon submodels will see 3–4 inches of rear lift over stock. Most Suburban and Yukon XL submodels will see 2.5–3.5 inches of rear lift over stock. Lift heights are based on a stock-equipped vehicle; actual results may vary with existing modifications.
Is anything else required to complete the rear suspension installation?
Yes. The rear toe link kit (ICON part number 71020) is required for this installation and is sold separately. ADAS recalibration is also required after the coilovers are installed. Front coilovers are not included and are sold separately.
What is the purpose of the remote reservoir on these shocks?
The remote reservoir on the ICON 2.5 Series rear coilovers increases shock oil volume and adds heat-dissipation surface area, helping the damper resist overheating and cavitation during sustained hard use. Overheating and cavitation can cause damper fade and a degraded ride in standard shocks that lack a reservoir.
Can these coilovers be rebuilt or retuned after extended use?
The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series rear coilovers are fully rebuildable and re-tunable. The shafts are hardened chrome-plated, the shock bodies are CAD-plated for corrosion resistance, and the CNC-machined components are 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, all designed for long service life and serviceability.
