The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit with Remote Reservoir and CDCV is a bolt-in rear suspension upgrade for 2021–2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon, and GMC Yukon XL SUVs, delivering 3–4 inches of rear lift on Tahoe and Yukon or 2.5–3.5 inches on Suburban and Yukon XL, along with increased rear wheel travel and 10 positions of external compression damping adjustment. Lift heights are measured from a stock-equipped vehicle baseline.

More Travel, Better Damping
The 2.5-inch diameter shock body and larger piston area give the ICON V.S. 2.5 Series coilover meaningfully more damping capacity than the stock rear units. Better body control over washboard roads, rocky trails, and high-speed desert terrain follows directly: the larger piston area absorbs bigger inputs without the suspension losing composure. The 7/8-inch hardened chrome-plated shaft and corrosion-resistant CAD-plated shock body are built to hold up through repeated hard use rather than degrade after a season.
Remote Reservoir Keeps Temperatures in Check
The remote reservoir increases shock oil volume and heat-dissipation surface area, reducing the risk of overheating and cavitation during extended off-road use. Cavitation (gas bubbles forming in the shock oil) causes damper fade, the gradual loss of shock performance that makes a suspension feel vague and unpredictable after sustained hard driving. By keeping oil temperatures lower, the remote reservoir helps the coilover maintain consistent damping characteristics across a full day of trail use, not just the first few miles.
Ten-Position CDCV Compression Adjustment
ICON's Compression Damping Control Valve gives 10 externally adjustable compression settings without removing the shock. Dialing in a softer setting for street driving or a firmer setting for high-speed off-road running takes seconds and requires no disassembly. Vehicle-specific valving is tuned for these GM SUV platforms, so each of the 10 positions reflects a deliberate calibration rather than a generic range. When paired with ICON front 2.5 Series coilover shocks, compression damping can be matched front to rear for balanced vehicle control.
Features
- 2.5" diameter shock body: larger piston area for improved damping over stock components
- 10-position CDCV: external compression damping adjustment without shock removal
- Remote reservoir: increased oil volume and heat dissipation to resist damper fade
- 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum CNC-machined components: with PTFE-lined spherical bearings for longevity and minimal deflection

Who This Is For and Isn't
This kit suits 2021–2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, or Yukon XL owners who want increased rear wheel travel, 3–4 inches of rear lift (Tahoe/Yukon) or 2.5–3.5 inches (Suburban/Yukon XL), and externally adjustable compression damping for mixed street and off-road use. OEM wheels and tires are compatible with the lift range.
This kit does not fit any Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, or Yukon XL submodel equipped with Magnetic Ride Control or Adaptive Air Ride suspension. The rear toe link kit (ICON part 71020) is required and sold separately. ADAS recalibration is required after installation. This kit covers the rear suspension only; front coilovers are a separate purchase. Common Questions
Will this kit fit my Tahoe or Yukon if it has Magnetic Ride Control?
The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit (71660C) will not fit any Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, or Yukon XL submodel equipped with Magnetic Ride Control or Adaptive Air Ride suspension. Confirm your vehicle's suspension type before ordering.
Is the rear toe link kit included?
The rear toe link kit (ICON part number 71020) is required for this installation but is sold separately. It is not included in the 71660C coilover kit.
Does installing this kit require recalibrating driver assistance systems?
Yes. Installing the ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit on 2021–2026 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, or Yukon XL vehicles requires recalibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) after installation.
How much rear lift will I get on a Suburban or Yukon XL versus a Tahoe or Yukon?
Most Tahoe and Yukon submodels achieve 3–4 inches of rear lift over stock with this kit. Most Suburban and Yukon XL submodels achieve 2.5–3.5 inches of rear lift over stock. Lift heights are based on a stock-equipped vehicle.
Can the shocks be rebuilt or retuned after installation?
The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series coilovers are fully rebuildable and re-tunable. The shocks are also fully serviceable, meaning internal components can be replaced or revalved rather than requiring full shock replacement.
