ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit with CDCV for 2021-2026 Ford Bronco
ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit with CDCV for 2021-2026 Ford Bronco
Couldn't load pickup availability
The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit with Remote Reservoir and CDCV is a bolt-on rear suspension upgrade for the 2021–2026 Ford Bronco, delivering up to 14 inches of wheel travel and 10 positions of external compression damping adjustment. The kit fits 4-door non-Sasquatch Broncos (2–3 inches of rear lift) and 4-door Sasquatch-equipped Broncos (1.25–2.25 inches of rear lift); 2-door models gain approximately 0.5 inches of additional rear lift over the 4-door figures. Sold as a pair.

More Travel, Less Heat
The 2.5-inch shock body and increased piston area over stock components maximize available wheel travel, up to 14 inches, while the remote reservoirs substantially increase shock oil volume and heat-dissipation surface area. Under sustained hard use, stock shocks are vulnerable to overheating and cavitation, which causes damper fade and unpredictable handling. The remote reservoir design keeps fluid temperatures lower across extended off-road sections, so the damping character at the end of a long desert run stays consistent with what it was at the start.
Dialed Compression Damping On the Trail
ICON's Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) gives 10 positions of external compression adjustment without tools. Turning the valve changes how quickly fluid moves through the damper under compression, letting the driver shift between a compliant street tune, a controlled crawling setup, and a high-speed desert setting without removing the shock. Vehicle-specific valving, tuned for Bronco weight and geometry, means the adjustment range is calibrated to this application rather than a generic baseline.
Heavy-Rate Springs for Loaded Builds
ICON's progressive dual-rate coil springs included in this kit use a heavier spring rate optimized for Broncos carrying additional rear weight: overlanding gear, a spare tire, a rear drawer system, or a rooftop tent. The dual-rate progression keeps the ride compliant at low loads while resisting bottoming under heavier payloads. ICON notes that the heavy-rate springs will produce a slight positive rake (nose-down attitude) when the Bronco is unloaded, which is a normal characteristic of this spring selection and not a fitment issue.
Features
- 2.5-inch shock body: larger piston area than stock for maximum wheel travel (up to 14 inches) and improved damping control
- 10-position CDCV: external compression damping adjustment for street, crawl, and high-speed desert tuning without tools
- Remote reservoir: increases oil volume and heat-dissipation surface area to resist damper fade under hard use
- Progressive dual-rate heavy springs: optimized for rear-loaded Broncos; produces slight positive rake when unloaded
- 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum CNC components: CAD-plated shock bodies with 7/8-inch diameter shaft and FK rod end bearings
- Fully rebuildable and re-tunable: 100% bolt-on installation; no drilling, cutting, or welding required

Who This Is For and Isn't
This kit suits 2021–2026 Ford Bronco owners (4-door non-Sasquatch or 4-door Sasquatch) who want a rebuildable, externally adjustable rear coilover with remote reservoir performance and the spring rate to handle a loaded overlanding or trail build. It is compatible with OEM wheels and tires; recommended aftermarket fitments are listed in the application notes above.
This kit does not fit the Ford Bronco Raptor. Reservoir hose routing requires a separate bracket: ICON part 611072 for factory lower links or ICON part 611073 for ICON tubular lower links (ICON billet links incorporate the bracketry). Running 37-inch tires requires ICON up-travel limiters (part 611074) for the rear. Rear reservoir brackets may interfere with some aftermarket step or rock slider mounts, and modifications may be required. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) recalibration is required after installation. This kit does not include front coilovers.
Common Questions
Will these rear coilovers fit a Ford Bronco Raptor?
No. The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Rear Coilover Kit (48711C) is not compatible with the Ford Bronco Raptor. It fits 2021–2026 Ford Bronco 4-door models (non-Sasquatch and Sasquatch) and 2-door models, but not the Raptor variant.
How much rear lift do these coilovers provide on a Sasquatch-equipped Bronco versus a non-Sasquatch Bronco?
On a 4-door Bronco without the Sasquatch package, the ICON V.S. 2.5 Series rear coilovers provide 2–3 inches of rear lift adjustability. On a 4-door Bronco with the Sasquatch package, the lift range is 1.25–2.25 inches. Two-door models will sit approximately 0.5 inches taller at the rear than the 4-door figures indicate.
Do I need any additional parts to complete the rear coilover installation?
The reservoir hose must be routed along the rear lower links, which requires a separate hose routing bracket: ICON part 611072 for factory OEM lower links or part 611073 for ICON tubular lower links. If running 37-inch tires, ICON up-travel limiters (part 611074) are also required for the rear. ADAS recalibration is required after installation.
What does the CDCV do, and how many adjustment positions does it offer?
The Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) regulates fluid flow under compression, allowing external adjustment of how the shock responds to bumps and terrain. The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series rear coilovers offer 10 positions of compression damping adjustment, letting the driver tune the suspension for street driving, technical crawling, or high-speed off-road use.
Why do the heavy-rate springs cause a slight nose-down rake when the Bronco is unloaded?
The ICON heavy-rate dual-rate coil springs included in this kit are optimized for Broncos carrying additional rear weight. When the vehicle is unloaded, the stiffer spring rate holds the rear higher than a standard-rate spring would, producing a slight positive rake (nose-down attitude). This is a normal characteristic of the heavy-rate spring selection and not a fitment or installation issue.
