The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Series front shocks are a remote-reservoir, nitrogen-charged monotube pair built for 2011–2019 GM 2500/3500 HD trucks running 0–2 inches of lift with extended travel. Each shock is configured specifically for this application in both length and damping tune, and the pair ships with application-specific mounting hardware. Aftermarket upper control arms with a high-angle ball joint are required for installation.

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Externally Adjustable Compression Damping

The ICON CDC Valve is an externally adjustable valve that restricts oil flow into the remote reservoir, producing 10 distinct levels of compression damping force. Turning a knob lets the driver dial in a firmer setting for loaded towing runs or a softer setting for daily driving without removing the shock or opening the system. That range of adjustability means the suspension can be tuned to the truck's actual use rather than locked into a single factory compromise.

Internal Bump Zone for High-Speed Control

A 6061 billet aluminum manifold positioned a few inches below the top cap creates an internal Bump Zone that adds 20% of damping force as the shock approaches full compression. At high velocity (hitting a washboard at speed or landing after a drop), that additional resistance prevents harsh bottom-outs and keeps the suspension from deflecting unpredictably. The remote reservoir improves heat dissipation during prolonged off-road use, reducing shock fade when the shocks are cycled repeatedly.

Built to Be Serviced, Not Replaced

The shock body is CNC-machined 1026 DOM steel with a CAD plating for corrosion resistance. The 7/8-inch induction-hardened, chrome-plated shock shaft and PTFE-lined spherical bearings are built to withstand repeated stress cycles. Both shocks are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable, so worn seals or a damping tune that no longer suits the build can be addressed without buying a new unit. Premium-grade 5WT shock oil maintains consistent damping across a wide temperature range.

Who This Is For and Isn't

These shocks suit 2011–2019 GM 2500/3500 HD owners running 0–2 inches of lift who want externally adjustable compression damping and extended travel for mixed on-road and off-road use, including loaded towing and high-speed trail driving.

These shocks do not fit GM 1500 trucks, any GM HD outside the 2011–2019 model years, or trucks running more than 2 inches of lift. Installation requires aftermarket upper control arms with a high-angle ball joint, which are not included. Buyers seeking a fully user-defined bypass tune should consider the ICON Omega Series instead.

Common Questions

What vehicles do these shocks fit?

These ICON V.S. 2.5 Series front shocks fit 2011–2019 GM 2500/3500 HD trucks with 0–2 inches of lift. They are not compatible with GM 1500 trucks or GM HD trucks outside that model-year range.

Are aftermarket control arms required, or can these be installed on stock upper arms?

Aftermarket upper control arms with a high-angle ball joint are required to install these ICON V.S. 2.5 Series shocks on a 2011–2019 GM 2500/3500 HD. Stock upper control arms are not compatible with this extended-travel application.

How does the CDC Valve compression adjustment work?

The ICON CDC Valve is an externally adjustable valve on the remote reservoir that restricts oil flow to create 10 levels of compression damping force. Turning the knob changes the damping setting without removing the shock or opening the system, allowing on-the-fly tuning between softer street and firmer off-road settings.

Can these shocks be rebuilt or revalved if they wear out?

Yes. These ICON V.S. 2.5 Series shocks are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable. Worn seals can be replaced and the damping tune can be changed by an ICON-authorized service center without replacing the entire shock body.

Does this listing include a Prop 65 warning?

Yes. This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm. California residents should review the full Proposition 65 warning before purchase.
