The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Series Front Coilover Kit is a remote-reservoir coilover system designed for the front suspension of 2019–2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks, sold as a pair with CDEV (Compression Damping Electronic Valve) included. Vehicle-specific valving delivers a sport-tuned damping profile on- and off-road, and the height-adjustable design provides 1.5–3.5" of front lift on most gasoline-powered Silverado and Sierra 1500 submodels over stock ride height.

2.5" Shock Body and Remote Reservoir

The 2.5" shock body provides a larger piston area than stock components, which increases damping capacity and smooths out the ride across varied terrain. Remote reservoirs extend the duration of consistent damping by keeping fluid cooler during sustained off-road use. That thermal advantage is meaningful on long trail runs or repeated high-speed desert crossings where heat-fade in a conventional shock would otherwise degrade performance. Shock bodies are corrosion-resistant CAD-plated and use 7/8" shafts with FK Rod End bearings for reduced deflection and extended service life.

In-Cab Electronic Damping Control via CDEV

The Compression Damping Electronic Valve (CDEV) is an electronically controlled valve that meters oil flow to regulate damping force under compression. The valve reacts in under 40ms and is capable of infinitely variable adjustment, with hydraulic circuits custom-tuned for this specific application to maximize resolution and dynamic range. The system is powered by ICON Intelligent Control (IIC) and the ICON mobile app, which uses onboard G-force sensor and gyroscope data to predict terrain and adjust shock settings automatically based on user-defined algorithms. Active adjustment operates from inside the cab. An iOS device is required to run the ICON Intelligent Control app.

Bolt-On Installation, ICON-Engineered Springs

The kit installs without drilling or welding. ICON-engineered coil springs and 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum CNC-machined components are included. Because the coilovers are fully serviceable, they can be rebuilt rather than replaced after extended use. Height adjustment is set at install; lift heights stated are relative to a stock-equipped vehicle.

Features

  • 2.5" shock body: larger piston area than stock for improved damping capacity
  • Remote reservoir: extends consistent damping duration and reduces operating temperature during heavy use
  • CDEV included: electronically controlled compression damping valve, reacts in under 40ms, infinitely variable
  • ICON Intelligent Control (IIC): app-driven active adjustment using G-force sensor and gyroscope data
  • Height-adjustable: 1.5–3.5" front lift on most gasoline Silverado / Sierra 1500 submodels over stock
  • Bolt-on installation: no drilling or welding required; shocks are fully serviceable

Who This Is For and Isn't

This kit suits 2019–2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 owners who want front lift, extended-travel damping, and the ability to tune compression damping electronically from inside the cab. It is compatible with OEM wheels and tires and supports fitment of larger aftermarket wheel and tire combinations.

This kit does not fit Silverado 1500 ZR2 or Sierra 1500 AT4X submodels, any Silverado or Sierra 1500 equipped with a 4-cylinder engine, or any model with a non-coil front spring setup. Aftermarket upper control arms are required for installation. They are not included. The ICON Intelligent Control app requires an iOS device; Android is not supported. Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 models with Adaptive Ride Control also require parts 71021 and 71022 (sold separately). Full CDEV functionality requires concurrent installation of a compatible IIC kit and CDEV-equipped rear shocks (sold separately). ADAS recalibration is required after installation. Recommended tire sizes may require minor fender trimming.

Common Questions

Do aftermarket upper control arms come with this kit?

Aftermarket upper control arms are not included with the ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Front Coilover Kit and must be purchased separately. These coilovers are designed to be used with aftermarket upper control arms only and are not intended for use with stock upper control arms.

What lift height will this kit provide on a Trail Boss or AT4?

On Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss and GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 submodels with a gasoline engine, the front lift range is 0–1.5" over stock. Diesel-equipped Trail Boss and AT4 models see a 0–1" range. Most other gasoline Silverado and Sierra 1500 submodels achieve 1.5–3.5" of front lift; diesel versions of those submodels achieve 1–3".

Is a smartphone required to use the CDEV system?

The ICON Intelligent Control (IIC) app, which drives active CDEV adjustment on these coilovers, requires an iOS-operated device. Android devices are not supported. The CDEV valve itself is electronically controlled and also requires concurrent installation of a compatible IIC kit and CDEV-equipped rear shocks, both sold separately.

Do Adaptive Ride Control models need additional parts?

Yes. Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 submodels equipped with Adaptive Ride Control require concurrent installation of ICON parts 71021 and 71022 in addition to this coilover kit. Those parts are sold separately and are not included in SKU 71656E.

Does installation require cutting or welding?

The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Front Coilover Kit is a 100% bolt-on installation. No drilling or welding is required to mount the coilovers. However, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) recalibration is required after installation, and the recommended larger tire sizes may require minor fender trimming.
