The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series Front Coilover Kit is a full-length, internal-reservoir coilover pair engineered for 2000–2006 Toyota Tundra trucks running an RCD 6" lift suspension system. The 2.5" shock body, vehicle-specific valving, and lift-height adjustability replace the OE coilover-and-spacer arrangement with a purpose-built unit designed to maximize wheel travel and ride quality on and off pavement.

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Full-Length Design Removes the Top-Mount Spacer

OE coilovers paired with a 6" lift typically require a top-mount spacer to make up the height difference. That spacer reduces effective shock travel. The ICON 2.5 Series coilover is built to the correct application-specific length, so the spacer is eliminated entirely. The result is more usable wheel travel and a shock that works through its full stroke rather than a shortened one.

2.5" Shock Body and Vehicle-Specific Valving

The larger 2.5" shock body increases piston area over stock components, giving the damper more fluid volume and improved heat capacity during sustained off-road use. Vehicle-specific valving is calibrated for the Tundra's front-end weight and the geometry of a 6" lifted suspension, delivering a sport-tuned feel that holds composure on rough terrain without sacrificing on-road stability. Superior low-speed control reduces body roll during cornering and lane changes.

Serviceable Construction Built to Last

The shock body is CAD-plated for corrosion resistance, and the 7/8" shaft is sized for durability under repeated load cycles. The fully serviceable design supports revalves and rebuilds, extending service life well beyond a sealed unit. ICON-engineered coil springs are guaranteed against sagging or breakage. For heavier-equipped Tundras, an optional 700 lb/in Expedition coil is available (Application Note #47). Coilover height settings are referenced to a stock-equipped vehicle (Application Note #55).

Who This Is For and Isn't

This coilover kit suits 2000–2006 Toyota Tundra owners who have already installed an RCD 6" lift system and want to replace the OE coilover-and-spacer setup with a purpose-built, travel-maximizing front damper. It may also be compatible with 6" lift kits from other manufacturers, though it is specifically designed around the RCD system.

This kit does not fit Tundras without a 6" lift system already installed, and it is not designed for stock-height or lesser-lift applications. It covers the front axle only; rear damping requires separate ICON 2.0 Aluminum Series or 2.5 Series rear shocks. Coilover height references in the instructions are calibrated to a stock-equipped vehicle, so heavily accessorized trucks should consult the optional 700 lb/in Expedition coil (Application Note #47).

Common Questions

Does this kit work with lift systems other than RCD?

The ICON V.S. 2.5 Series front coilover kit is specifically designed for the RCD 6" lift system on 2000–2006 Toyota Tundra. It may also be compatible with 6" lift kits from other manufacturers, though RCD is the confirmed design target. Buyers using a different brand's 6" kit should verify compatibility before ordering.

What does "internal reservoir" mean for daily driving?

An internal reservoir keeps the additional fluid volume inside the shock body rather than in a remote canister, resulting in a cleaner install with no external lines to route. For the 2000–2006 Tundra application, it provides improved heat management over a standard shock while keeping the front suspension bay uncluttered.

Can the ride height be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The ICON 2.5 Series coilover kit includes lift-height adjustability, allowing the owner to fine-tune vehicle stance after the initial bolt-in installation. Height settings are referenced to a stock-equipped vehicle per Application Note #55, so adjustments should account for any added accessories or payload.

Is a Prop 65 warning associated with this product?

Yes. California residents should be aware that this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm.
