For a heavily loaded Super Duty on rough terrain, that additional resistance is the difference between a controlled compression and a jarring bottom-out that stresses the frame and fatigues the driver.

Active Damping Tuning Without Leaving the Cab

The Compression Damping Electronic Valve is an infinitely variable valve that meters oil flow to regulate damping force during compression. It reacts in less than 40 milliseconds and is hydraulically tailored for the F-250/F-350 application to maximize resolution across the full dynamic range. Powered by ICON Intelligent Control and the proprietary ICON mobile app, the system reads an onboard G-force sensor and gyroscope, runs terrain-prediction algorithms, and adjusts the CDEV automatically. The driver can also dial in a preferred setting manually from inside the cab.
