The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series Remote Reservoir Front Shocks with CDEV are a vehicle-specific pair engineered for 2017–2022 Ford Super Duty 4WD trucks running 7 inches of front lift over stock (or 6 inches over stock on Tremor-equipped trucks). The 2.5-inch aluminum shock body, remote reservoir, and electronically controlled compression damping valve make these shocks a purpose-built upgrade for drivers who demand both off-road control and on-road compliance.

Active Damping That Reads the Terrain

The Compression Damping Electronic Valve (CDEV) is an infinitely variable valve that meters oil flow to regulate compression damping force, reacting in under 40 milliseconds. Powered by the ICON Intelligent Control (IIC) system and the proprietary ICON mobile app, the CDEV reads an onboard G-force sensor and gyroscope, then adjusts damping in real time based on terrain predictions and user-defined settings. The result is a shock that tightens up before a harsh hit rather than reacting after it, reducing driver fatigue on washboard and improving composure at speed. Note: IIC unit (part 93500) and compatible CDEV rear shocks (part 37701EP) are required for full system operation and are sold separately.

Bump Zone Control at Full Compression

A 6061-billet aluminum manifold positioned just below the shock's top cap creates ICON's internal Bump Zone. When the shock approaches full compression, this zone increases damping force by 20 percent, resisting harsh bottom-outs without stiffening the mid-stroke ride. The remote reservoir design moves heat away from the shock body during sustained hard use, reducing fade on long off-road runs where repeated compression cycles would otherwise overheat a conventional shock.

Built to Be Rebuilt

The shock cylinder is one-piece, hard-anodized, impact-extruded aluminum, corrosion-resistant and dimensionally consistent over time. The 7/8-inch shock shaft is induction-hardened and chrome-plated. Internal components use premium 5WT shock oil for consistent damping across a wide temperature range, PTFE-lined spherical bearings for low-friction articulation, and a one-piece digressive piston with vehicle-specific valving. Every V.S. 2.5 shock is fully rebuildable and re-tunable, so the shocks can be serviced and revalved rather than replaced when wear or a change in use case demands it.

Features

  • CDEV electronic compression control: infinitely variable valve reacts in under 40ms, adjustable from inside the vehicle or via the ICON mobile app
  • Internal Bump Zone: 6061-billet aluminum manifold adds 20% damping force near full compression to resist bottom-outs
  • Remote reservoir: improves heat dissipation and reduces shock fade during prolonged hard use
  • Hard-anodized aluminum cylinder: one-piece impact-extruded construction for corrosion resistance and consistent finish
  • 7/8-inch induction-hardened shaft: chrome-plated for durability and smooth travel
  • Fully rebuildable and re-tunable: serviceable with vehicle-specific valving and 5WT shock oil

Who This Is For and Isn't

These shocks suit 2017–2022 Ford Super Duty 4WD owners running 7 inches of front lift over stock (or 6 inches on Tremor-equipped trucks) who want electronically adjustable compression damping for mixed on-road and off-road driving, and who are prepared to also install the ICON Intelligent Control unit and compatible CDEV rear shocks.

These shocks do not fit 2WD Super Duty trucks, Super Duty trucks outside the 2017–2022 model years, or any other make or model. The CDEV system is not functional without the separately sold IIC unit (part 93500) and CDEV-compatible rear shocks (part 37701EP). California residents: this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm (Proposition 65).

Common Questions

What lift height are these shocks designed for?

The ICON 67820EP front shocks are configured for 7 inches of front lift over stock on 2017–2022 Ford Super Duty 4WD trucks. Trucks equipped with the Tremor package are compatible at 6 inches of front lift over stock due to differences in the factory suspension geometry.

Do these shocks work without the ICON Intelligent Control unit?

The CDEV valve on these front shocks requires the ICON Intelligent Control (IIC) unit, sold separately as ICON part 93500, to function electronically. Without the IIC unit installed, the electronic adjustment and active terrain-response features of the CDEV system will not operate.

Are rear shocks included or required?

This listing covers the front shock pair only. ICON specifies that compatible CDEV rear shocks (part 37701EP) are also required for the full system and are sold separately. Rear shocks are not included in this pair.

Can these shocks be rebuilt or revalved?

The ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are fully rebuildable and re-tunable. The vehicle-specific valving and 5WT shock oil can be serviced, allowing the shocks to be refreshed or revalved for a change in use case rather than replaced outright.

What does the Bump Zone do?

The Bump Zone is an internal feature created by a 6061-billet aluminum manifold positioned just below the shock's top cap. As the shock approaches full compression, the Bump Zone increases damping force by 20 percent, resisting harsh bottom-outs and providing additional control during high-velocity compression without stiffening the mid-stroke ride.
