The ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series Rear Remote Reservoir Shocks are a vehicle-specific pair engineered for 2022–2026 Toyota Tundra builds running 3–3.5 inches of rear lift (or 3 inches on TRD Tundras with rear coil springs), delivering improved off-road damping control and reduced shock fade without sacrificing street manners. Each shock is configured in both length and damping tune for this exact Tundra application and ships as a pair ready to install.

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Bump Zone Technology Prevents Harsh Bottom-Outs

A 6061-billet aluminum manifold positioned just below the top cap of each shock creates what ICON calls an internal Bump Zone. When the shock approaches full compression, this zone generates an additional 20% of damping force. For a loaded Tundra hitting a sharp ledge or compressing hard at speed, that extra resistance is the difference between a controlled landing and a chassis-jarring bottom-out. The Bump Zone is built into the shock body itself, so there are no external adjusters to set or forget.

Remote Reservoir Design Manages Heat on Extended Runs

The remote reservoir separates the oil volume from the main shock body, giving heat generated during prolonged off-road use more surface area to dissipate. Gradual loss of damping consistency as oil heats up is reduced as a result. Premium-grade 5WT shock oil maintains consistent damping across a wide temperature range, so the shock that performs well on the first trail section still performs the same way at the end of the day.

Built to Last and Built to Be Serviced

The one-piece, hard-anodized, impact-extruded aluminum cylinder resists corrosion and holds a consistent finish over years of use. The 7/8-inch induction-hardened, chrome-plated shock shaft and PTFE-lined spherical bearings are chosen for durability under repeated load cycles. Every V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shock is fully rebuildable and re-tunable, meaning worn seals or changed build goals do not require replacing the entire unit. Owners who want a more user-defined tune can upgrade these shocks with an ICON compression adjuster (CDCV, CDXS, or CDEV), sold separately.

Features

  • Internal Bump Zone: 6061-billet aluminum manifold adds 20% damping force near full compression to control harsh bottom-outs
  • Remote reservoir: nitrogen-charged monotube with piggyback reservoir reduces heat-induced shock fade on extended runs
  • Hard-anodized aluminum cylinder: one-piece, impact-extruded construction for corrosion resistance and consistent finish
  • 7/8" chrome-plated shaft: induction-hardened for durability; PTFE-lined spherical bearings at mounting points
  • Fully rebuildable and re-tunable: compatible with ICON CDCV, CDXS, and CDEV compression adjusters (sold separately)
  • Vehicle-specific valving: length and damping tune configured for the 2022–2026 Tundra application

Who This Is For and Isn't

These shocks suit 2022–2026 Toyota Tundra owners running 3–3.5 inches of rear lift on a non-TRD Tundra, or exactly 3 inches of rear lift on a TRD Tundra equipped with rear coil springs, who want improved off-road damping control and reduced shock fade on extended runs.

These shocks are not compatible with Tundras equipped with Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension or with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). They are rear shocks only and do not include front shocks, springs, or any other suspension components.

Common Questions

Do these shocks fit a TRD Tundra?

The ICON 57841P rear shocks are compatible with TRD Tundras equipped with rear coil springs at 3 inches of rear lift only. Non-TRD Tundras are compatible with 3–3.5 inches of rear lift. Verify your trim and spring configuration before ordering.

Are these shocks compatible with factory air suspension or AVS?

No. These ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series rear shocks are not compatible with Tundras equipped with Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension or Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). Tundras with either of those factory systems require a different shock solution.

What does the remote reservoir do, and is it included?

The remote reservoir is included and built into each shock in this pair. It increases oil volume and surface area so heat generated during hard off-road use dissipates more effectively, reducing the shock fade that causes damping to feel inconsistent toward the end of a long run.

Can the damping be adjusted after installation?

These shocks ship with fixed damping tuned for the Tundra application. Owners who want adjustable compression damping can upgrade them with an ICON CDCV, CDXS, or CDEV compression adjuster, each sold separately. The shocks are also fully rebuildable and re-tunable if needs change over time.

What is the Bump Zone, and why does it matter?

The Bump Zone is an internal feature created by a 6061-billet aluminum manifold near the top of the shock body. As the shock nears full compression, the Bump Zone increases damping force by 20%, resisting harsh bottom-outs when the suspension compresses quickly at high velocity.
