The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series front shock absorbers are a vehicle-specific pair engineered for a 2.5-inch lift on 2018–2023 Jeep Wrangler JL and 2020–2023 Jeep Gladiator models equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 gasoline engine. Each shock ships with a remote reservoir and ICON's Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV), and both units are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable.
Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
Application-Specific Valving, Not a Generic Tune
ICON configures the length and damping tune of V.S. Series shocks for each vehicle application individually rather than adapting a universal shock to fit. The compression and rebound curves are calibrated to the actual suspension geometry and weight of the Wrangler JL and Gladiator platform at a 2.5-inch lift. The one-piece digressive piston design and premium 5WT shock oil maintain consistent damping across a wide temperature range, so the shock behaves predictably whether the trail is cold in the morning or hot after hours of use.
Bump Zone and CDCV: Two Layers of Compression Control
A 6061 billet aluminum manifold positioned a few inches below the top cap creates ICON's internal Bump Zone. When the shock approaches full compression, this zone adds approximately 20% of additional damping force, reducing harsh bottom-outs during high-velocity compression without stiffening the everyday ride. The remote reservoir itself improves heat dissipation during sustained off-road use, limiting the shock fade that builds when oil temperature rises on long runs.
The CDCV is an externally adjustable valve that controls oil flow into the reservoir. Turning the knob moves through 10 levels of compression damping force, letting the driver dial in a softer setting for highway miles and a firmer setting for rock crawling or high-speed desert running without tools or disassembly.
Construction Built to Last and Be Serviced
The shock body is a one-piece impact-extruded aluminum cylinder, which resists corrosion and holds a consistent finish over time. The 7/8-inch shock shaft is induction-hardened and chrome-plated for durability against trail debris. PTFE-lined spherical bearings and application-specific mounting hardware are included. Because the shocks are fully rebuildable and revalveable, a worn seal or a desired revalve does not require replacing the entire unit.
Features
- 10-Level CDCV Adjustment: externally adjustable compression damping via knob, no tools required
- Internal Bump Zone: 6061 billet aluminum manifold adds approximately 20% damping force near full compression

Who This Is For and Isn't
These shocks suit Wrangler JL owners (2018–2023) and Gladiator owners (2020–2023) running a 2.5-inch front lift with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 gasoline engine who want externally adjustable, rebuildable performance shocks with remote reservoir heat management for mixed on-road and off-road use.
These shocks do not fit Wrangler JL or Gladiator models with diesel or 4-cylinder engines, any Wrangler generation other than JL, or any non-Jeep application. Gladiator Mojave trim requires the separate 14mm misalignment spacer kit (ICON part 611070), which is not included. This listing covers front shocks only; rear shocks are a separate purchase. California residents: this product carries a Proposition 65 warning for chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm.
Common Questions
Does this pair fit the Jeep Gladiator Mojave trim?
The ICON 27821CP front shocks are compatible with the Gladiator Mojave trim, but that trim requires the separate ICON 14mm misalignment spacer kit (part number 611070), which is not included with this pair. Purchase the spacer kit separately before installation on a Mojave.
Which engine configurations are supported?
These front shocks fit only Wrangler JL and Gladiator models equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 gasoline engine. Diesel and four-cylinder variants of the Wrangler JL and Gladiator are not supported by this part number.
What does the CDCV adjustment actually change?
The Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) on these ICON shocks is an external knob that adjusts how freely oil flows into the remote reservoir. Turning it through its 10 positions changes compression damping stiffness, allowing the driver to soften the shock for highway comfort or firm it up for high-speed off-road or rock-crawling use without removing the shock.
Are these shocks rebuildable if a seal wears out?
Yes. These ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable, meaning worn seals can be replaced and the valving can be changed by a qualified shop without purchasing a new shock body.
Do rear shocks come with this listing?
No. This listing is for a pair of front shocks only. Rear shocks for the Wrangler JL and Gladiator are sold separately under different ICON part numbers.
