The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series front shock absorbers with CDEV are a vehicle-specific, remote-reservoir pair engineered for 2017–2026 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks running 0–2.5 inches of front lift. Each shock is length- and valving-tuned for this exact application. The included Compression Damping Electronic Valve lets the driver adjust damping from inside the cab, or the ICON Intelligent Control system can adjust it automatically in real time.
Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
Internal Bump Zone: More Control Where It Counts
A 6061-billet aluminum manifold positioned just below the shock's top cap creates what ICON calls an internal Bump Zone. As the shock approaches full compression, this zone increases damping force by 20 percent. For a heavily loaded Super Duty hitting a sharp trail obstacle or a washboard at speed, that extra resistance is the difference between a controlled compression and a harsh bottom-out that transfers shock energy straight into the cab and frame.
Electronic Damping That Reacts Faster Than You Can
The CDEV is an infinitely variable valve that meters oil flow to regulate damping force electronically. It reacts in under 40 milliseconds, which is faster than any manual adjustment and faster than most terrain changes register as driver feedback. Hydraulic circuits are custom-tuned per application to maximize resolution and dynamic range for this specific truck. Paired with the ICON Intelligent Control app (iOS required, IIC kit sold separately), the system reads onboard G-force sensor and gyroscope data and adjusts shock settings automatically based on terrain and user-defined preferences.
Built to Last and Be Serviced
The shock cylinder is one-piece, hard-anodized, impact-extruded aluminum, corrosion-resistant and dimensionally consistent over time. The 7/8-inch shock shaft is induction-hardened and chrome-plated. PTFE-lined spherical bearings handle the mounting ends. The remote reservoir improves heat dissipation during sustained off-road use, reducing the fade that builds in conventional shocks under repeated compression cycles. Premium 5WT shock oil maintains consistent damping across a wide temperature range. Every V.S. 2.5 Aluminum shock is fully rebuildable and re-tunable, so the investment extends well beyond the first set of seals.
Features

Who This Is For and Isn't
These shocks suit 2017–2026 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD owners who want electronically adjustable, remote-reservoir front damping and who want a shock that can be rebuilt and retuned rather than replaced outright. Lift compatibility varies by year and package: 2005–2019 models support 0–3 inches of front lift over stock; 2020–2022 non-Tremor models support 0–3.75 inches; 2020–2022 Tremor models support 0–2.75 inches; 2023–2026 non-Tremor models support 0–3 inches; 2023–2026 Tremor models support 0–2 inches.
These shocks do not fit 2WD Super Duty models. Full CDEV functionality requires a separately purchased ICON Intelligent Control install kit and CDEV-compatible rear shocks; the IIC app requires an iOS device. When used as secondary shocks with ICON 2.5–3-inch lift coilover conversions, additional part numbers are required (see application notes).
Common Questions
Do these shocks work with the truck's factory wheels and tires?
Yes, the ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum front shocks with CDEV are confirmed compatible with OEM wheels and tires on 2017–2026 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks. ICON also lists recommended aftermarket wheel specs: 17x8.5 with 5.00-inch backspace, 18x9 with 5.25-inch backspace, or 20x9 with 5.25-inch backspace.
Is the ICON Intelligent Control kit included?
The ICON Intelligent Control install kit is not included with these ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum front shocks and must be purchased separately. Full CDEV functionality also requires compatible CDEV rear shocks. An iOS device is required to run the ICON Intelligent Control app.
How much front lift do these shocks support?
The ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum front shocks with CDEV support lift ranges that vary by model year and package. The 2005–2019 F-250/F-350 4WD range supports 0–3 inches over stock; 2020–2022 non-Tremor supports 0–3.75 inches; 2020–2022 Tremor supports 0–2.75 inches; 2023–2026 non-Tremor supports 0–3 inches; 2023–2026 Tremor supports 0–2 inches. The product listing covers the 0–2.5-inch lift configuration.
Can these be rebuilt when the seals wear out?
Yes. The ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are fully rebuildable and re-tunable. The hard-anodized aluminum cylinder and serviceable internal components mean the shocks can be refreshed and revalved rather than replaced, which extends the usable life of the investment.
What is the Prop 65 warning about?
These ICON shock absorbers carry a California Proposition 65 warning: this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm. This warning is required for sale in California and does not reflect a defect in the product.
