A 6061 aircraft-grade billet aluminum manifold positioned just below the top cap of each shock body creates what ICON calls an internal Bump Zone. When the shock approaches full compression, this zone increases damping force by 20 percent, resisting harsh bottom-outs and controlling suspension behavior during high-velocity compression events. The remote reservoir design improves heat dissipation during sustained off-road use, reducing shock fade when the suspension is working hardest. Together, the Bump Zone and remote reservoir keep damping consistent across the kind of extended runs where lesser shocks begin to fade.

Each shock body is a one-piece, hard-anodized, impact-extruded aluminum cylinder for corrosion resistance and a consistent finish. The shock shaft is 7/8-inch diameter, induction-hardened, and chrome-plated. PTFE-lined spherical bearings and application-specific mounting hardware are included. Premium 5WT shock oil maintains consistent damping across a wide temperature range. Because these shocks are fully rebuildable and re-tunable, they can be revalved or serviced rather than replaced when driving demands change.
