The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series rear shock absorbers (SKU 77751CP, sold as a pair) are application-specific piggyback reservoir shocks with a Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV), built for 2023–2026 GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado trucks running 0–1" of rear lift. Colorado LT, WT, and Z71 trims support up to 0–2" of rear lift. These shocks are not compatible with the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 or GMC Canyon AT4X.

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Tuned for the Specific Application

ICON's Vehicle Specific (V.S.) configuration means the shock length and damping tune are set for the 2023–2026 Canyon and Colorado platform, not adapted from a universal fitment. A one-piece digressive piston with vehicle-specific valving delivers consistent response whether the truck is loaded for camp or running an off-road trail, without the compromise of a generic tune.

External Compression Adjustment with the CDCV

The ICON Compression Damping Control Valve is an externally adjustable valve that restricts oil flow into the piggyback reservoir, producing 10 distinct levels of compression damping force. Adjustments are made with a knob (no disassembly required), so the driver can dial the shock stiffer for high-speed off-road runs or softer for daily highway use without pulling the shock off the truck.

Internal Bump Zone and Reservoir Cooling

A 6061 billet aluminum manifold positioned below the top cap creates an internal Bump Zone that adds 20% of damping force as the shock approaches full compression. That progressive resistance reduces harsh bottom-outs at speed without stiffening the mid-stroke ride. The piggyback reservoir separates the oil volume from the main shock body, improving heat dissipation during sustained off-road use and reducing shock fade on long runs.

Features

  • 10-Level CDCV Compression Adjustment: externally adjustable knob controls compression damping across 10 settings without disassembly
  • Internal Bump Zone: 6061 billet aluminum manifold adds 20% damping force near full compression to resist bottom-outs
  • Nitrogen Monotube with Piggyback Reservoir: separates oil volume for improved heat dissipation and reduced fade
  • 7/8" Induction-Hardened Chrome Shaft: with PTFE-lined spherical bearings and application-specific mounting hardware
  • 6061 Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Construction: CNC-machined components and one-piece impact-extruded aluminum cylinders for corrosion resistance
  • 100% Rebuildable and Revalveable: premium 5WT shock oil; full serviceability extends service life

Who This Is For and Isn't

These shocks suit 2023–2026 Chevrolet Colorado (LT, WT, Z71, and Trail Boss) and GMC Canyon owners running stock height or up to 1" of rear lift (up to 2" on LT, WT, and Z71 trims) who want externally adjustable compression damping and a rebuildable, reservoir-equipped shock for mixed street and off-road use.

These shocks do not fit the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 or the GMC Canyon AT4X. They are rear shocks only and do not include front shocks, springs, or any other suspension components. Coilover height references in ICON's application notes are based on a stock-equipped vehicle.

Common Questions

What trims of the 2023–2026 Colorado and Canyon do these shocks fit?

The ICON 77751CP rear shocks fit the 2023–2026 Chevrolet Colorado LT, WT, Z71, and Trail Boss, and the 2023–2024 GMC Canyon, with 0–1" of rear lift. The Colorado LT, WT, and Z71 also support up to 0–2" of rear lift. These shocks do not fit the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 or GMC Canyon AT4X.

What does the CDCV do and how is it adjusted?

The Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) on these ICON 2.5 Series shocks is an externally adjustable knob that restricts oil flow into the piggyback reservoir, creating 10 levels of compression damping force. Adjustments are made without removing the shock from the vehicle.

What is the internal Bump Zone and why does it matter?

The internal Bump Zone in these ICON 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks is created by a 6061 billet aluminum manifold below the top cap. As the shock approaches full compression, it adds approximately 20% more damping force, reducing harsh bottom-outs during high-speed off-road use without stiffening the mid-stroke ride on the street.

Are these shocks rebuildable?

Yes. The ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series rear shocks are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable. They use premium 5WT shock oil and are designed for long-term serviceability, which extends their usable life compared with non-rebuildable shocks.

What is included in the purchase?

The purchase includes a pair of two ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series rear shocks with piggyback reservoirs and CDCV, with application-specific mounting hardware. Shock boots (ICON 2.5" x 13" Black) are available as a separate add-on and are not included.
