The ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 9 Tubular CDXS is a complete front-and-rear suspension system for 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma (4WD only), delivering 0–3.5 inches of front lift on 2005–2015 models or 0–2.75 inches on 2016–2023 models through vehicle-specific-tuned 2.5 Series Extended Travel coilovers, tubular upper control arms with the patented Delta Joint, ICON RXT multi-rate rear leaf springs, and CDXS-equipped rear shocks. All five component groups are included in one kit.
Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
Extended Travel Front and Rear, Tuned Together
The 2.5 Series Extended Travel coilovers pair with the included tubular upper control arms to add droop travel beyond what a coilover alone provides. Because the front and rear damping is tuned as a matched set (not sourced separately), the system delivers consistent vehicle behavior across terrain rather than the mismatched feel that comes from mixing components. For 2016–2023 TRD Pro models, the front lift range is 0–1.25 inches and rear lift is 1.375–2.125 inches over stock, depending on rear spring configuration and rear weight.
CDXS Compression Damping on Every Shock
Every shock absorber in the Stage 9 kit carries ICON's CDXS (Compression Damping X-Adjustment System), which controls fluid flow under compression with independent adjustability of high-speed and low-speed compression force. Ten detented positions on each adjustment knob let the driver dial handling response and overall aggressiveness separately, with no shock removal required. The front remote reservoirs and the rear 10-inch remote reservoir both aid heat dissipation and resist shock fade during hard use.
Delta Joint Tubular Upper Control Arms
The tubular upper control arms use ICON's patented Delta Joint (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700) in place of a conventional uniball. The Delta Joint combines the high-angularity of a uniball with a zinc-plated housing, grease seal, and greaseable metal-on-metal construction that resists corrosion and contamination in daily-driven conditions. The arms also correct front-end geometry, add caster, and improve suspension component clearance: changes that matter for alignment stability after a lift.
RXT Multi-Rate Rear Leaf Springs
The ICON RXT rear leaf springs include an add-in leaf that can be exchanged or added to the pack to raise spring rate by 10–20 percent. That adjustability lets the same spring serve an unloaded truck and one carrying a bed rack, rooftop tent, or spare tires, with no need to swap the entire pack. Most Tacoma submodels will see 1.875–2.625 inches of rear lift over stock, depending on rear spring configuration and rear weight.

Who This Is For and Isn't
The Stage 9 Tubular CDXS system suits 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma 4WD owners who want a complete, matched front-and-rear suspension upgrade with adjustable compression damping, extended wheel travel, and the ability to run 33-inch tires: daily-driven, loaded for overlanding, or used off-road. The multi-rate rear leaf springs make it equally capable under an unloaded truck and one carrying a bed rack, rooftop tent, or spare tires.
This system will not fit 2WD Tacoma models with 5 wheel lug studs. Advertised wheel travel is only achievable with the complete system installed; mixing in components from other systems will not deliver the stated travel and may cause damage. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) require recalibration after installation. Lift heights for 2017–2023 TRD Pro models are reduced from the standard ranges stated above. A 700 lb/in Expedition coil is available separately for heavily equipped vehicles; Bump Stop Spacer Kit 51045 is sold separately to increase preload 0.25 inches beyond maximum coilover height.
Common Questions
Does this system fit both 2005–2015 and 2016–2023 Tacoma models?
The Stage 9 Tubular CDXS kit fits 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma 4WD models. The front coilovers are height-adjustable from 0–3.5 inches on 2005–2015 trucks and 0–2.75 inches on 2016–2023 trucks. TRD Pro models (2017–2023) have a reduced front lift range of 0–1.25 inches due to their factory suspension configuration.
Will this system fit a 2WD Tacoma?
The Stage 9 Tubular CDXS system will not fit a 2WD Tacoma with 5 wheel lug studs. It is designed for 4WD Tacoma applications only.
What does CDXS mean and what does it adjust?
CDXS stands for Compression Damping X-Adjustment System. On every shock in this Stage 9 kit, CDXS provides independent adjustability of high-speed and low-speed compression force through 10 detented positions on each knob, letting the driver tune handling response and overall aggressiveness separately without removing the shock from the vehicle.
What is the Delta Joint and why does it matter on the upper control arms?
The Delta Joint (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700) is a high-angle ball joint built into the tubular upper control arms included with this system. It offers greater angularity than a conventional ball joint and more corrosion resistance than a standard uniball, thanks to a zinc-plated housing and grease seal. The greaseable, metal-on-metal design extends service life in daily-driven conditions.
Can the rear leaf springs handle a loaded truck with a bed rack or rooftop tent?
The RXT multi-rate rear leaf springs included in this system come with an add-in leaf that can be exchanged or added to the pack to increase spring rate by 10–20 percent. This allows the rear suspension to be configured for an unloaded truck or for one carrying a bed rack, rooftop tent, spare tires, or other added weight. For very heavily equipped vehicles, a 700 lb/in Expedition coil is available separately.
Does installation require ADAS recalibration?
Yes. Installation of the Stage 9 Tubular CDXS system requires recalibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) after the install is complete. This applies to all 2005–2023 Tacoma models equipped with ADAS.
