The ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 9 is a complete suspension system for the 2023–2026 Toyota Sequoia, delivering 3–4.5" of front lift over stock on most submodels through a matched set of 2.5 Series remote reservoir CDXS front coilovers, billet aluminum upper control arms with Delta Joint PRO, a sway bar drop kit, 2.5 Aluminum Series rear remote reservoir CDXS shocks, and dual-rate rear coil springs. Rear lift is 2" over stock on non-TRD Sequoia trims and 0" on TRD Off-Road package models.

CDXS Damping: Independent High- and Low-Speed Compression Control

Every shock absorber in the Stage 9 system is equipped with ICON's Compression Damping Dual Speed (CDXS) valving. CDXS separates high-speed and low-speed compression adjustment into two independent knobs, each with 10 detented settings, so the driver can tune handling response and overall aggressiveness independently. Low-speed adjustment governs body roll and dive during normal driving; high-speed adjustment controls how the suspension reacts to sharp impacts and rough terrain. Having both axes adjustable on the same shock means a single system can be dialed for highway comfort, rock-crawl compliance, or high-speed desert running without swapping components.

Remote Reservoirs and the 2.5-Inch Shock Body

The front coilovers and rear shocks both use remote reservoirs, which increase shock oil volume and heat-dissipation surface area. Under sustained hard use, conventional shocks lose damping consistency as oil heats and aerates; the larger oil volume in a remote reservoir system delays that onset and keeps damping more consistent across extended off-road sections. The 2.5" shock body on the front coilovers provides a larger piston area than stock, which ICON states yields up to 40% more wheel travel than the factory front suspension. The rear 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks add an internal Bump Zone that generates an additional 20% of damping force at the end of the stroke to resist hard bottom-outs.

Billet Upper Control Arms and Corrected Front Geometry

The included billet aluminum upper control arm kit replaces the OE front upper control arms and corrects front-end geometry to work with the lifted ride height. The UCAs provide increased on-vehicle camber and caster adjustment and improved suspension component clearance. The OE ball joint is replaced by ICON's Delta Joint PRO, a serviceable and rebuildable unit with 90 degrees of total articulation (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700) that allows full bump and droop travel without bind. The included sway bar drop brackets reposition the sway bar attachment points to reduce link bind through the full range of suspension travel.

Features

  • 2.5 VS Remote Reservoir CDXS Front Coilovers: vehicle-specific valving, 2.5" shock body, adjustable ride height 3–4.5" over stock (most submodels)
  • Billet Aluminum UCAs with Delta Joint PRO: corrected geometry, on-vehicle camber/caster adjustment, rebuildable ball joint with 90° articulation
  • Sway Bar Drop Kit: reduces OE sway bar link bind through full suspension travel
  • 2.5 Aluminum Series Rear Remote Reservoir CDXS Shocks: internal Bump Zone, 10-setting high- and low-speed compression adjustment
  • Dual-Rate Rear Coil Springs: softer ride-height rate with firmer overload rate; 2" rear lift (non-TRD) or 0" rear lift (TRD Off-Road)
  • All Shocks Fully Rebuildable and Re-Tunable

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Stage 9 system suits 2023–2026 Toyota Sequoia 4WD owners who want 3–4.5" of front lift, CDXS-adjustable damping across all four corners, corrected front geometry, and the ability to run up to 35" tires. It is also appropriate for TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro owners who understand they will see a reduced front lift range of 1–2.5" and no rear lift height gain.

This system is not compatible with Sequoia models equipped with Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension or Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). It does not fit 2WD models. ADAS recalibration is required after installation. On 4WD non-TRD Pro models, ICON recommends adding a differential drop kit (ICON part #55156) or Toyota TRD axles to avoid front axle damage; that part is not included. Sequoia owners with a TRD aluminum skid plate must also add part #55164, which is sold separately. Lift heights are for stock-equipped vehicles; added accessory weight will alter the lift range. If taller rear ride height is needed on TRD Off-Road models, ICON offers an alternate kit (K53239DS), not this one.

Common Questions

Does this system fit all 2023–2026 Sequoia trim levels?

The Stage 9 system fits 2023–2026 Toyota Sequoia 4WD models, but lift results vary by trim. Most submodels achieve 3–4.5" of front lift and 2" of rear lift. Sequoias with the TRD Off-Road package achieve 1–2.5" of front lift and no rear lift gain. The system is not compatible with models equipped with Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension or Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).

What is CDXS and how is it adjusted?

CDXS (Compression Damping Dual Speed) is ICON's valving system that separates high-speed and low-speed compression damping into two independent adjustment knobs. Each knob has 10 detented settings. Adjusting low-speed compression changes body roll and dive behavior during normal driving; adjusting high-speed compression changes how the shocks respond to sharp impacts and rough terrain. All four shocks in the Stage 9 system include CDXS.

Is a differential drop kit required for installation?

On 4WD Sequoia models without the TRD Off-Road package, ICON recommends using the ICON Differential Drop Kit (part #55156) or Toyota TRD axles to prevent potential front axle damage. This recommendation does not apply to TRD Pro models. The differential drop kit is not included in the Stage 9 system and is sold separately.

What does the Delta Joint PRO replace and why does it matter?

The Delta Joint PRO replaces the OE front upper ball joint as part of the included billet upper control arm kit. It is a serviceable and rebuildable unit with 90 degrees of total articulation (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700). This range of motion allows the front suspension to move through its full bump and droop travel without the binding that can occur with a stock ball joint at lifted ride heights.

Does this system require any recalibration after installation?

Yes. ICON states that recalibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is required after installing the Stage 9 suspension system. Owners with a TRD aluminum skid plate must also add ICON part #55164 during installation; that part is sold separately and is not included in this kit.
