The ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 8 Tubular Suspension System is a complete front-and-rear upgrade for 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma, combining 2.5 Series Extended Travel coilover shocks, tubular upper control arms with the patented Delta Joint, ICON RXT multi-rate rear leaf springs, and RXT-specific 2.5 Aluminum Series rear shocks. Front lift adjusts 0–3.5" on 2005–2015 Tacomas and 0–2.75" on 2016–2023 Tacomas; most submodels gain 1.875–2.625" of rear lift depending on spring configuration and rear weight.

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Extended Travel Front and Rear

The 2.5 Series Extended Travel coilovers increase front wheel travel beyond stock. The RXT rear shocks use a side-mount lower eyelet that shortens collapsed length while extending travel up to 20% over stock, all within the factory mounting location. More travel means the suspension can absorb larger obstacles without bottoming out, which translates directly into control and driver confidence on rough terrain. A ten-inch remote reservoir on each rear shock dissipates heat during sustained hard use and resists shock fade.

Corrected Geometry with the Delta Joint

The tubular upper control arms correct front-end geometry, add caster, and improve suspension component clearance compared to stock arms. ICON's patented Delta Joint (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700) replaces the conventional uniball with a high-angle ball joint that offers greater articulation than a standard ball joint and better weather resistance than an exposed uniball. A zinc-plated housing, grease seal, and greaseable metal-on-metal construction protect the joint from corrosion and contamination in daily-driven and off-road conditions.

Tunable Rear Spring Rate

The ICON RXT multi-rate leaf springs ship with an add-in leaf that can be exchanged or added to the pack to raise spring rate by 10–20%. Drivers running a lightly loaded truck can run the softer configuration for improved ride quality; those carrying a bed rack, rooftop tent, spare tires, or significant gear weight can add the leaf to maintain control under load. The 8.0" U-bolt kit is included to complete the rear installation.

Who This Is For and Isn't

This system suits 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma owners, including those running loaded builds with bed racks, rooftop tents, or added rear weight, who want increased front and rear wheel travel, corrected front geometry, and a tunable rear spring rate for mixed on- and off-road use. OEM wheel and tire sizes fit without modification.

This system is not compatible with 2005–2015 2WD 5-lug Toyota Tacoma models. Aftermarket upper control arms are required; the system is designed to be installed as a complete ICON unit, and using components from other manufacturers will not deliver the advertised wheel travel. Recommended tire sizes (up to 33x11.50") require fender trimming; larger tires require additional modification. California residents: this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm (Prop 65).

Common Questions

Does this system fit both 2005–2015 and 2016–2023 Tacomas?

The ICON Stage 8 Tubular system covers 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma, but lift ranges differ by generation: front coilovers adjust 0–3.5" on 2005–2015 models and 0–2.75" on 2016–2023 models. The 2017–2023 TRD Pro has a narrower front lift range of 0–1.25" due to its factory suspension configuration.

Is this system compatible with 2WD Tacomas?

The ICON Stage 8 Tubular system is not compatible with 2005–2015 2WD 5-lug Toyota Tacoma models. Buyers with those trucks should confirm compatibility before ordering.

What upper control arms does this system include?

The Stage 8 Tubular system includes ICON tubular upper control arms with the patented Delta Joint. Aftermarket upper control arms are required for the system to achieve the advertised extended wheel travel; OEM arms are not compatible with this application.

Can the rear spring rate be adjusted for a loaded truck?

The ICON RXT multi-rate rear leaf springs include an add-in leaf that raises spring rate by 10–20%. Drivers running a lightly loaded Tacoma can omit the add-in leaf for a softer ride; those carrying a bed rack, rooftop tent, or significant rear weight can add it to maintain control under load.

What tire sizes fit without body modification?

The Stage 8 system is OEM-wheel-and-tire compatible at stock sizes. ICON's recommended aftermarket tire size is 33x11.50", which requires fender trimming. Larger tires may fit but require additional fender modification beyond trimming.
