The ICON Stage 8 Tubular Suspension System is a complete front-and-rear lift kit engineered for 2019–2021 Ford Rangers equipped with aluminum knuckles, delivering up to 3.5 inches of front lift and a 35% increase in front wheel travel over stock. The system ships as six component assemblies covering coilovers, tubular upper control arms, rear shocks, bump stops, and multi-rate leaf packs. It fits both 2WD and 4WD Ranger configurations; Rangers equipped with the Tremor package have a reduced front lift range of 0–2.5".

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Extended Travel With Corrected Geometry

The CDCV 2.5 Series remote reservoir coilovers are tuned specifically for the Ranger platform and are height-adjustable across the full 0–3.5" range, allowing fitment of larger, more aggressive tires without sacrificing daily-drive compliance. The 35% gain in front wheel travel over stock means the suspension can absorb larger obstacles before reaching the limits of its range, a meaningful difference on uneven terrain where a stock suspension would already be deflecting off its bump stops. The 7/8" corrosion-resistant CAD-plated shock body and fully rebuildable internals mean the coilovers can be serviced and revalved rather than replaced when tuning needs change.

Delta Joint Upper Control Arms

The tubular steel upper control arms replace the factory units and correct front-end geometry by adding caster and improving suspension component clearance. The ICON Delta Joint (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700) replaces the OE ball joint and allows full bump and extended droop travel without bind. Its zinc-plated housing, grease seal, and greaseable metal-on-metal construction address the corrosion vulnerability common to uniball designs while retaining the high angularity that makes a uniball desirable. That combination makes it a practical choice for a truck used in wet or muddy conditions year-round.

Balanced Front-to-Rear Performance

The rear of the system pairs CDCV 2.5 Aluminum Series piggyback reservoir shocks (vehicle-specifically valved to match the front coilovers) with multi-rate leaf packs that carry a lower spring rate than stock for improved compliance. Each leaf pack includes an add-in leaf that can be exchanged or added to raise the spring rate for more heavily outfitted vehicles, giving three user-selectable rear spring rate configurations without purchasing additional hardware. A foam bump stop kit is also included to increase rear-end compliance at the limits of travel.

Features

  • Height-adjustable coilovers: 0–3.5" front lift range (0–2.5" on Tremor-equipped Rangers)
  • CDCV compression damping: externally adjustable on both front coilovers and rear shocks
  • 35% more front wheel travel: over stock, per ICON specification for this platform
  • Patented Delta Joint: U.S. Pat. 10,731,700; greaseable, zinc-plated, corrosion-resistant
  • Three rear spring rate configurations: via the included add-in leaf in the multi-rate leaf packs
  • Fully rebuildable and revalvable shocks: front and rear

Who This Is For and Isn't

This system suits 2019–2021 Ford Ranger owners, both 2WD and 4WD, who want a comprehensive suspension upgrade with corrected geometry, increased wheel travel, and the flexibility to run larger tires on and off-road. The adjustable spring rate configuration makes it a practical fit for both lightly and more heavily outfitted trucks.

This system requires aluminum knuckles and is not compatible with Rangers equipped with steel knuckles or with the Ranger Raptor. Minor fender trimming is required when running the recommended 33"x11.25" tire size; larger tires require additional fender modifications. The Tremor package limits front lift to 0–2.5".

Common Questions

Does this system fit my 2020 Ford Ranger with the Tremor package?

The ICON Stage 8 Tubular system fits 2019–2021 Ford Rangers equipped with aluminum knuckles, including Tremor-equipped XLT and Lariat models. However, the Tremor package limits the front lift height range to 0–2.5" over stock rather than the full 0–3.5" available on non-Tremor Rangers. The system does not fit the Ranger Raptor.

What is included in the Stage 8 Tubular system?

The Stage 8 Tubular system includes CDCV 2.5 Series remote reservoir front coilovers with ICON coil springs, tubular upper control arms with Delta Joint (for aluminum-knuckle Rangers), CDCV 2.5 Aluminum Series piggyback rear shocks, a universal foam bump stop kit, two multi-rate rear leaf packs with add-in leaves, and a leaf spring hardware kit: six component assemblies in total.

How does CDCV compression damping adjustment work?

CDCV (Compression Damping Control Valve) technology on the ICON Stage 8 shocks allows the driver to adjust compression damping externally without removing the shock from the vehicle. This lets the rider tune the suspension feel for different terrain or load conditions without specialized tools or a full rebuild.

Will factory wheels and tires still fit after installing this system?

The ICON Stage 8 Tubular system is confirmed compatible with factory Ranger wheels and tires. For aftermarket fitments, ICON recommends 17x8.5" wheels with 5.75" backspace and 25mm offset, or 18x9" wheels with 6.00" backspace and 25mm offset, paired with 33"x11.25" tires. Larger tires may fit but require fender trimming and additional modifications.

Are the shocks rebuildable if they wear out or need retuning?

Both the front CDCV 2.5 Series coilovers and the rear CDCV 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks in this Stage 8 system are fully rebuildable and revalvable, meaning internal components can be serviced or retuned by a qualified shop rather than requiring full shock replacement.
