The ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 2 Suspension System is a complete front-and-rear upgrade for 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma 4WD trucks, combining 2.5" internal-reservoir coilover shocks up front with 2.0 Aluminum Series remote-reservoir rear shocks and an Add-A-Leaf kit. Front lift is adjustable from 0–3.5" on 2005–2015 Tacomas and 0–2.75" on 2016–2023 Tacomas; 2017–2023 TRD Pro models are limited to 0–1.25" front lift and 1" rear lift over stock.
Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
Tuned Front and Rear Balance
The 2.5" coilover shocks use an internal reservoir to manage heat during sustained off-road use, keeping damping consistent when trail conditions demand repeated compression cycles. Vehicle-specific valving is matched front to rear through the 2.0 Aluminum Series remote-reservoir rear shocks, so the truck responds predictably rather than pitching or wallowing when load shifts between axles. FK rod end bearings reduce deflection at the coilover mount, which tightens steering response and extends the service life of the front suspension geometry.
Rear Compliance Without Sacrificing Lift
The included Add-A-Leaf kit replaces the factory overload leaf spring rather than stacking on top of it, lowering the rear spring rate by approximately 10% for a more compliant ride on washboard and broken pavement. At the same time it adds 1.5" of rear lift over stock, keeping the truck level when the front coilovers are set toward the upper end of their range. The result is a rear end that absorbs small hits rather than transmitting them to the cab, without requiring a separate spring purchase.
Hardware Built for Longevity
Coilover shock bodies are CAD-plated for corrosion resistance, and structural components are CNC-machined from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum. Front shafts measure 7/8" diameter; rear shafts measure 5/8". All shocks in this system are fully serviceable, so worn seals or valving can be rebuilt rather than replaced outright. The bolt-on design uses existing mounting points, and OEM wheels and tires fit without modification.

Who This Is For and Isn't
This system suits 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma 4WD owners who want a balanced front-and-rear suspension upgrade with adjustable lift, improved off-road damping, and a more compliant rear ride than the factory overload spring provides.
This system does not fit 2WD Tacoma models with 5 wheel lug studs. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) require recalibration after installation. A 700 lb/in Expedition coil spring is available separately for heavily equipped vehicles (Application Note #47); the standard kit is tuned for stock-equipped trucks. Running 33" tires requires fender trimming. A bump stop spacer kit (51045) is required to increase preload beyond the coilover's maximum adjustment and is sold separately.
Common Questions
Will this system fit my 2WD Tacoma?
The ICON Stage 2 Suspension System (K53002) does not fit 2WD Tacoma models with 5 wheel lug studs. The system is designed for 4WD Tacoma trucks from model years 2005 through 2023.
How much lift does this system provide on a 2016–2023 Tacoma?
On 2016–2023 Tacoma 4WD trucks, the front coilovers are height-adjustable from 0–2.75" of lift. The Add-A-Leaf kit adds 1.5" of rear lift over stock. On 2017–2023 TRD Pro models, the front lift range is limited to 0–1.25" over stock and the rear to 1" over stock.
Do I need to recalibrate my truck's safety systems after installing this kit?
Yes. The ICON Stage 2 system requires recalibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) after installation on any equipped Tacoma. This is a post-install requirement and is not performed by the suspension components themselves.
Will my factory wheels and tires still fit after installation?
OEM wheels and tires fit without modification. The recommended aftermarket tire size is 33" x 11.50", but running that size requires fender trimming. Larger tires may fit with additional fender modifications.
Are the shocks in this system serviceable?
All shocks included in the ICON Stage 2 Suspension System (K53002) are fully serviceable, meaning worn seals or valving can be rebuilt rather than requiring full shock replacement.
