The ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 12 Tubular suspension system is a complete front-and-rear upgrade for 2025–2026 Toyota 4Runner 4WD models, delivering 1.25–3" of front lift height and 0.75" of rear lift height over stock through a seven-component kit built around electronically controlled 2.5 Series CDEV coilovers, tubular upper control arms with Delta Joint PRO ball joints, and vehicle-specific dual-rate rear coil springs.

Active Damping That Reads the Road

Each front and rear shock in the Stage 12 system carries ICON's Compression Damping Electronic Valve (CDEV), which makes near-instant compression adjustments in response to terrain without driver input. The ICON Intelligent Control (IIC) app (operated from an iOS device) lets the driver set preferences and monitor the system wirelessly; once configured, the system runs autonomously. Remote reservoirs on both the front coilovers and rear shocks increase oil volume and heat-dissipation surface area, resisting the cavitation and damper fade that occur under sustained hard use.

Geometry Corrected, Travel Maximized

The front differential drop kit lowers the differential to maintain better CV joint operating angles at lifted ride height, and ICON-engineered coilover lengths work together with that drop to maximize available front suspension travel. Polyurethane differential mounting bushings replace the stock rubber units to limit differential movement under load. The tubular upper control arms add caster correction and improve suspension component clearance; the patented Delta Joint PRO (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700) replaces the OE ball joint with a serviceable, rebuildable unit that allows full bump and droop travel without bind.

Rear Balance and Axle Centering

The dual-rate rear coil springs use a softer rate at ride height for on-road comfort and a firmer overload rate for bottoming resistance off-road, while providing the 0.75" of rear lift that brings the 4Runner to a level stance front to rear. The billet aluminum adjustable rear track bar re-centers the rear axle after the lift and uses double adjuster rod end threads for fine length adjustment on the vehicle without removal or disassembly.

Features

  • 2.5 Series CDEV front coilovers with remote reservoirs: vehicle-specific valving, 1.25–3" height adjustability, corrosion-resistant CAD-plated bodies with 7/8" shafts
  • ICON Intelligent Control (IIC): onboard sensors monitor G-forces and chassis movement; iOS app provides wireless compression damping control
  • Tubular upper control arms with Delta Joint PRO: 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum CNC-machined components, 90° total articulation, patented serviceable ball joint
  • Front differential drop kit with polyurethane bushings: maximizes CV joint angle and available front travel at lifted height
  • Dual-rate rear coil springs: 0.75" rear lift, softer ride-height rate with firmer overload rate for combined comfort and bottoming resistance
  • Billet adjustable rear track bar: re-centers rear axle; on-vehicle fine adjustment without disassembly; FK rod end bearings
  • 2.5 Aluminum Series CDEV rear shocks with remote reservoirs: integrated bump zones, 7/8" shafts, balanced tune matched to front coilovers

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Stage 12 Tubular system suits 2025–2026 Toyota 4Runner 4WD owners who want electronically controlled active damping, maximum front suspension travel, and corrected front-end geometry in a single complete kit. It is sized for tires up to 33×11.50" and aftermarket wheels in the recommended offset range without fender trimming.

This system does not fit 2WD 4Runner models or any 4Runner equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). It is not compatible with hybrid powertrains for the advertised lift heights, which are rated for gasoline-engine vehicles at stock weight. Adding accessories that increase vehicle weight will alter the achieved lift range. ADAS recalibration is required after installation. The IIC app requires an iOS device; Android is not supported. Tires larger than 33×11.50" may require fender trimming and additional modifications.

Common Questions

Does this system fit a 2WD 4Runner?

The Stage 12 Tubular system is configured for 4WD models. On a 2WD 4Runner the front differential drop kit (part 55160) is not needed, and the remaining components can be purchased individually with full system functionality; a 2WD-specific kit was not yet available at the time this listing was created.

Is this compatible with Adaptive Variable Suspension?

No. The ICON Stage 12 Tubular system is not compatible with 4Runner trims equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). Verify your trim level before ordering.

What lift height will this system achieve?

The front coilovers are height-adjustable from 1.25" to 3" of lift over stock; the rear coil springs provide 0.75" of rear lift. These figures apply to gasoline-engine 4Runners at stock vehicle weight. Adding accessories or cargo weight will reduce the achieved lift within that range.

What wheels and tires fit after installing this system?

OEM wheels and tires remain compatible. For aftermarket fitment, ICON recommends a 17×8.5 wheel with 6.32" backspace and 40mm offset, or an ICON Alloys 18×9 with 6.6" backspace and 40mm offset. Tires up to 33×11.50" fit without trimming; larger tires may require fender modification.

Does the IIC app work on Android?

The ICON Intelligent Control app requires an iOS-operated device. Android is not supported. Once the system is configured through the app, it operates autonomously without ongoing driver input.

Is ADAS recalibration required after installation?

Yes. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) require recalibration after the Stage 12 Tubular system is installed on a 2025–2026 Toyota 4Runner. This is typically performed by a Toyota dealer or a shop with the appropriate calibration equipment.
