The ICON Vehicle Dynamics Stage 1 Suspension System is a complete front-and-rear upgrade for 2025–2026 Toyota 4Runner 2WD models, delivering 1.25–3" of adjustable front lift and 0.75" of rear lift through a matched set of vehicle-specific shocks, coilovers, and dual-rate rear coil springs. It is engineered exclusively for 2WD 4Runner configurations and is not compatible with 4WD models or vehicles equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Tuned Front Performance with Adjustable Lift

The front of the Stage 1 system centers on ICON's 2.5 Series coilover shocks with internal reservoirs and ICON-engineered coil springs. The internal reservoir increases fluid capacity, which helps manage heat during sustained off-road use and maintains consistent damping when the suspension is working hard. Coilover length is optimized specifically for 2WD 4Runner geometry to maximize available front wheel travel. Height adjustment from 1.25–3" of front lift over stock accommodates larger wheel and tire combinations without requiring a fixed ride height.

Balanced Rear Lift and Bottoming Resistance

The rear of the system pairs ICON 2.0 Aluminum Series internal reservoir shocks with a dual-rate coil spring kit that provides 0.75" of rear lift. The dual-rate design uses a softer spring rate through normal ride height travel for daily comfort, then transitions to a firmer overload rate as the suspension compresses further, reducing harsh bottoming on rough terrain without sacrificing on-road ride quality. Vehicle-specific rear shock valving is matched to the front coilovers so damping behavior stays balanced across both axles.

Construction and Hardware

Structural components are CNC machined from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum. Coilover shock bodies are CAD plated for corrosion resistance and use 7/8" shafts; rear shocks use 5/8" shafts. FK Rod End bearings are specified throughout for longevity and minimal deflection under load. All shocks in the system are fully serviceable.

Features

  • 2.5 Series front coilovers: internal reservoir, vehicle-specific tuning, adjustable 1.25–3" front lift over stock
  • 2.0 Aluminum Series rear shocks: internal reservoir, vehicle-specific valving, 5/8" shafts
  • Dual-rate rear coil springs: 0.75" rear lift, softer ride rate with firmer overload rate
  • 6061 aluminum CNC components: CAD-plated coilover bodies, 7/8" front shafts
  • FK Rod End bearings: extended longevity and minimal deflection
  • Fully serviceable shocks: front and rear

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Stage 1 system suits 2025–2026 Toyota 4Runner 2WD owners running a gasoline engine who want adjustable front lift between 1.25–3", a leveled stance front to rear, and meaningfully more wheel travel and damping control than the stock suspension provides, on road and off.

This system does not fit 4WD 4Runner models; installation on a 4WD vehicle will damage the front axles. It is not compatible with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) equipped vehicles. Above 2" of front lift, ICON Delta Joint Pro front upper control arms are recommended to maintain proper wheel alignment (sold separately). ADAS recalibration is required after installation. An adjustable track bar is recommended (not required) to realign the rear axle after installation; it is not included. Lift heights are based on a stock, unloaded vehicle. Added accessories will reduce the achieved lift range.

Common Questions

Does this system fit 4WD 4Runner models?

The ICON Stage 1 Suspension System (K53421) is engineered exclusively for 2025–2026 Toyota 4Runner 2WD models. Installation on a 4WD 4Runner will result in damage to the front axles and is not supported.

Is this system compatible with Adaptive Variable Suspension?

No. The ICON Stage 1 system is not compatible with 4Runner models equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). Buyers should confirm their vehicle's suspension configuration before ordering.

What lift height will this system achieve?

The front coilovers are adjustable from 1.25–3" of lift over stock; the rear dual-rate spring kit provides 0.75" of rear lift. Stated lift heights are based on a stock, gasoline-engine vehicle with no added accessories. Additional weight from gear or aftermarket parts will reduce the achieved range.

Are upper control arms included, and are they required?

Upper control arms are not included in the Stage 1 system. ICON Delta Joint Pro front upper control arms are recommended when running more than 2" of front lift to maintain proper wheel alignment; they are sold separately.

What post-installation steps are required?

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) require recalibration after the Stage 1 system is installed. An adjustable track bar is also recommended (though not required) to realign the rear axle after the lift is set.

What wheels and tires work with this system?

OEM wheels and tires fit. For aftermarket fitment, ICON recommends a 17×8.5 wheel with 6.32" backspace and 40mm offset, or an ICON Alloys 18×9 with 6.6" backspace and 40mm offset. Recommended tire size is 33×11.50"; larger tires may fit but will require fender trimming or other modifications.
