The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series Shock System with Remote Reservoir and CDC Valve is a complete front suspension upgrade for 2020-2026 GM 2500/3500 HD trucks, delivering 0-2 inches of lift through a matched set of CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum upper control arms and vehicle-specific 2.5 Series remote-reservoir shocks. Upper control arms are sold only as part of this complete system, not as individual components.
Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
Delta Joint Control Arms Built for Daily Use and Off-Road Demands
The upper control arms are built around ICON's patented Delta Joint (U.S. Patent No. 10,731,700), a high-angle ball joint that combines the articulation range of a uniball with the sealed, greaseable construction of a traditional ball joint. A zinc-plated housing and tough grease seal block contaminants from the joint's internals, addressing the corrosion vulnerability that makes a standard uniball a poor choice for a truck driven year-round. Metal-on-metal construction and a greaseable design extend service life while keeping operation quiet. PTFE-lined 7/8" FK Rod End heim joints allow additional camber and caster adjustment so alignment can be dialed in precisely after installation.
Remote Reservoir Shocks with 10-Level Compression Adjustment
The V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are nitrogen-charged monotube units configured specifically for this application in both length and damping tune. Remote reservoirs increase fluid volume, which reduces heat buildup and maintains consistent damping during extended off-road use. ICON's internal Bump Zone, created by a 6061-billet aluminum manifold positioned below the top cap, adds 20% more damping force as the shock approaches full compression, reducing harsh bottom-outs at high velocity. The CDC Valve is an externally adjustable knob that restricts oil flow into the reservoir across 10 discrete compression damping levels, so the driver can tune the ride without removing the shocks. Both shocks are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable.

Who This Is For and Isn't
This system suits 2020-2026 GM 2500/3500 HD owners who want a 0-2 inch front lift with a significant upgrade in off-road capability and on-road ride quality, and who want externally adjustable compression damping without pulling the shocks. It fits trucks running OEM wheels and tires or ICON Alloys aftermarket wheels at the recommended offsets.
This system does not fit any GM HD model year outside 2020-2026, and it does not cover rear suspension. Upper control arms are not available separately from this shock system. Tires larger than 35x12.50" may require fender trimming and additional modifications. The additional suspension down travel can create clearance issues between the sway bar and the stock front splash guard; ICON's splash guard kit (part number 77202) is recommended. This product carries a California Proposition 65 warning for chemicals known to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm.
Common Questions
Can the upper control arms be purchased without the shocks?
No. ICON no longer sells GM 2500HD/3500HD upper control arms as individual components. The billet upper control arms in this system are available only as part of the complete V.S. 2.5 Shock System to ensure compatibility between the control arm geometry and shock length.
What does the CDC Valve do and how is it adjusted?
The CDC Valve on these V.S. 2.5 shocks is an externally adjustable knob that restricts oil flow into the remote reservoir, creating 10 discrete levels of compression damping force. Adjustment is made by turning the knob on the shock body without removing any components.
Will OEM wheels and tires still fit after installation?
Yes. This ICON system is confirmed compatible with OEM wheels and tires on 2020-2026 GM 2500/3500 HD trucks. For aftermarket fitments, ICON recommends 18x9 or 20x9 ICON Alloys wheels with 5.5-inch backspace and 12mm offset, and tires up to 35x12.50".
Are the shocks rebuildable if they wear or need revalving?
Yes. The V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks included in this system are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable, meaning the internals can be serviced or the damping tune changed without replacing the entire shock body.
Is a splash guard replacement needed after installation?
Possibly. The increased suspension down travel provided by this ICON system can cause clearance issues between the sway bar and the stock front splash guard as the suspension approaches full extension. ICON's 2020-and-up GM HD Splash Guard Kit (part number 77202) is recommended to address this.
