Couldn't load pickup availability
The ICON Vehicle Dynamics V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series Shock System is a complete front suspension upgrade for 2020-2026 GM 2500/3500 HD trucks, delivering 0-2 inches of lift through a matched set of CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum upper control arms and Vehicle Specific 2.5 Aluminum Series remote reservoir shocks. ICON no longer sells the GM HD upper control arms separately, so this system is the only way to purchase them, with fitment and damping tuning configured as a matched unit.
Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
Delta Joint Engineering
The upper control arms use ICON's patented Delta Joint (U.S. Patent No. 10,731,700) at the ball joint position. A conventional uniball allows wide articulation but leaves the joint exposed to water, grit, and corrosion. A standard ball joint seals well but limits angularity. The Delta Joint addresses both: a zinc-plated housing and grease seal block contamination, while metal-on-metal construction and a greaseable port extend service life without the bind or noise that plagues worn uniballs. The result is a joint that articulates through a greater range than a typical ball joint and outlasts a uniball in daily-driven conditions.
Shock Damping Built Around This Truck
The V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are length- and valving-tuned specifically for the 2020-2026 GM HD application, not adapted from a universal platform. A nitrogen-charged monotube design with a remote reservoir keeps operating temperatures lower during sustained off-road use, reducing shock fade when it matters most. A 6061 billet aluminum manifold positioned below the top cap creates an internal Bump Zone that adds 20% damping force as the shock approaches full compression, controlling harsh bottom-outs without stiffening the mid-stroke ride. The 7/8" induction-hardened, chrome-plated shaft and one-piece impact-extruded aluminum cylinder resist corrosion and maintain consistent damping across a wide temperature range using premium 5WT shock oil.
Rebuildable and Upgradeable
Both shocks are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable, so the system can be serviced and retuned rather than replaced. The shocks are also compatible with ICON's Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) upgrade for adjustable compression damping. PTFE-lined 7/8" FK rod ends on the control arms provide smooth, precise response throughout the full range of travel, with additional camber and caster adjustability for alignment dialing after installation.

Who This Is For and Isn't
This system suits 2020-2026 GM 2500/3500 HD owners who want a matched upper control arm and shock upgrade with 0-2 inches of lift, improved off-road damping, and the ability to run OEM or recommended aftermarket wheel and tire sizes without body modifications.
This system does not fit any GM HD model year outside 2020-2026, and it is not compatible with trucks requiring more than 2 inches of lift. Tires larger than 35x12.50" may require fender trimming. The sway bar may contact the stock splash guard at full suspension extension; ICON's 2020-UP GM HD Splash Guard Kit (part number 77202) is recommended to address this clearance issue. Common Questions
Can the upper control arms be purchased without the shocks?
No. ICON no longer sells the GM 2500HD/3500HD upper control arms as individual components. The billet upper control arms in this system are only available as part of a complete system paired with ICON V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shock absorbers.
Will OEM wheels and tires fit after installing this system?
Yes. This ICON shock system is confirmed compatible with OEM wheels and tires on 2020-2026 GM 2500/3500 HD trucks. For aftermarket fitment, ICON recommends 18x9 or 20x9 wheels with 5.5-inch backspace and 12mm offset, paired with 35x12.50-inch tires.
Are the shocks rebuildable and can damping be adjusted?
Both V.S. 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks in this system are 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable. They are also compatible with ICON's optional Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) upgrade, which adds adjustable compression damping for tuning between on-road and off-road use.
Is there a splash guard clearance issue to be aware of?
Yes. The additional suspension down travel this system provides can cause the sway bar to contact the stock splash guard as the suspension approaches full extension. ICON's 2020-UP GM HD Splash Guard Kit (part number 77202) is recommended to resolve this clearance issue.
