The ICON Vehicle Dynamics 3.0 Series Bypass Shocks with Piggyback Reservoir are a bolt-in rear shock upgrade for 2017–2020 Ford Raptor (Gen 2), sold as a pair. Designed around the Gen 2 Raptor's offset shock mounting layout, these shocks use an offset upper eyelet to maximize available wheel travel while retaining the factory shock locations.

Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.

Three-Zone Bypass Damping

The 3.0 Series shocks use a 3-tube bypass design with three distinct damping zones: two on the compression stroke and one on rebound. This means the shock responds differently depending on where it is in its travel range, delivering controlled compliance over small trail chatter, progressive resistance through mid-stroke, and firm support at the limits of travel. ICON's damped valve stops eliminate the loud bypass "click" common with other designs, so the transitions between zones are quiet and precise.

Reservoir Cooling and Adjustability

Each shock is paired with a 12-inch finned aluminum piggyback reservoir that increases oil volume and surface area, helping dissipate heat during sustained off-road use and maintaining consistent damping when the shocks cycle repeatedly. Easy-to-adjust detented knobs allow shock tuning changes without tools, so ride character can be dialed in trailside without downtime.

Durability Built Into Every Component

The shock shafts are CNC machined to 1-inch diameter and paired with FK Rod End COM12 spherical bearings for strength at the mounting points. ICON's patented Anti-Wobble Link stabilizes each shock body to prevent rotation and potential collision during articulation. Urethane shin guards shield the shaft and rod end from debris and premature wear. The CAD plated shock body with hard anodized piston and top cap resists corrosion, and the fully serviceable design supports revalves and rebuilds over the life of the shock.

Features

  • 3-tube bypass design: three unique damping zones (2 compression, 1 rebound) via ICON "Bump Zone" technology
  • 12" finned aluminum piggyback reservoirs: increased oil volume and surface area for heat dissipation and consistent damping
  • Offset upper eyelet with Anti-Wobble Link: ICON's patented design optimizes shock packaging for the Gen 2 Raptor's offset mount layout
  • 1" CNC machined shock shafts: paired with FK Rod End COM12 spherical bearings for maximum strength
  • Tool-free detented adjustment knobs: quick tuning changes without removing the shock
  • Fully serviceable: supports revalves, rebuilds, and long-term service life

Who This Is For and Isn't

These shocks are designed for 2017–2020 Ford Raptor owners who want to maximize the Gen 2 Raptor's rear wheel travel and improve damping control on and off-road. The bolt-in design uses factory shock mount locations, making them a direct replacement upgrade without chassis modification.

These shocks do not fit the first-generation Ford Raptor (2010–2014) or any other vehicle. 2019–2020 Raptors equipped with the factory Live Valve shock system require the ICON Damper Interface Device (PN: 95199), sold separately. Without it, the vehicle's drive modes will not operate correctly after the factory shocks are removed. Larger tires beyond 35x12.50" may require fender trimming or other modifications. California residents: this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth anomalies, or other reproductive harm (Proposition 65).

Common Questions

Do these shocks fit the first-generation Ford Raptor?

No. The ICON 3.0 Series Bypass Shocks with Piggyback Reservoir (SKU 95205) are engineered specifically for the 2017–2020 Ford Raptor (Gen 2), which uses an offset shock mounting layout that differs from the parallel setup on the first-generation Raptor. They are not compatible with 2010–2014 Raptor models.

My 2019 Raptor has the factory Live Valve system. Do I need anything extra?

Yes. 2019–2020 Raptors equipped with the factory Live Valve shock system require the ICON Damper Interface Device (PN: 95199), sold separately. Without it, removing the factory Live Valve shocks will prevent the vehicle's drive modes from operating correctly. This requirement does not apply to 2017–2018 Raptor models.

Will these shocks work with OEM wheels and tires?

Yes. The ICON 3.0 Series rear shocks are confirmed compatible with OEM Raptor wheels and tires. For aftermarket fitment, ICON recommends 17x8.5 wheels with 5-inch backspacing and 6mm offset, paired with 35x12.50" tires. Larger tires may fit but could require fender trimming or other modifications.

Can shock tuning be adjusted without removing the shocks?

Yes. The ICON 3.0 Series Bypass Shocks feature easy-to-adjust detented knobs that allow tuning changes without tools and without removing the shocks from the vehicle, so ride character can be adjusted quickly between on-road and off-road use.

Are these shocks rebuildable?

Yes. The ICON 3.0 Series Bypass Shocks are fully serviceable and support revalves and rebuilds, extending their usable service life well beyond what a non-serviceable shock can offer.
