The ICON Vehicle Dynamics 2.5 VS Omega Bypass Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks (SKU 59910P) are application-specific rear shocks for 2007–2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 2003–2024 Toyota 4Runner, and 2003–2023 Lexus GX builds running 1–3 inches of rear lift over stock. Sold as a pair, these 2.5-inch-body shocks combine an externally hand-adjustable bypass valve with an internal Bump Zone manifold and a remote reservoir to deliver tunable, fade-resistant performance on and off pavement.
Shipping: ICON parts ship direct from ICON Vehicle Dynamics, mostly by UPS Ground. Lead times vary by part and some items are built to order, so please allow extra time. We email tracking as soon as your order ships.
Tunable Damping Across 28 Settings
The ICON Bypass Valve restricts oil flow through the bypass tube and offers 28 detented positions at quarter-turn increments, with no tools required. That range lets a driver dial in a softer highway cruise, then firm up for high-speed desert running or technical rock work without removing a wheel. Bypass tubes are replaceable in the event of damage, so a trail strike does not mean replacing the entire shock body.
Internal Bump Zone for High-Speed Compression Control
A 6061 billet aluminum manifold positioned below the top cap creates an internal Bump Zone that sharply increases damping force as the shock approaches full compression. The added resistance absorbs the energy of high-velocity compression events (square-edged hits, big landings) before the suspension bottoms harshly, protecting both the vehicle and the occupants. The one-piece digressive piston carries vehicle-specific valving that works with the Bump Zone rather than against it.
Remote Reservoir and Rebuildable Construction
The remote reservoir separates a volume of oil from the main shock body, improving heat dissipation during prolonged hard use and reducing the fade that shortens the effective performance window of conventional shocks. The 7/8-inch induction-hardened, chrome-plated shock shaft and one-piece impact-extruded aluminum cylinder resist corrosion and wear. Every Omega Series shock is 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable, so the investment can be serviced and retuned rather than discarded when ride preferences or vehicle weight changes.
Features
- 28-setting bypass valve: hand-adjustable compression and rebound tuning at quarter-turn increments, no tools required
- Internal Bump Zone: 6061 billet aluminum manifold increases damping force near full compression to resist harsh bottom-outs
- Remote reservoir: improves heat dissipation and reduces shock fade during extended off-road use
- 7/8" hardened chrome shaft: induction-hardened, chrome-plated for corrosion and wear resistance
- 100% rebuildable and revalveable: PTFE-lined spherical bearings and application-specific mounting hardware included

Who This Is For and Isn't
These shocks suit 2007–2014 FJ Cruiser, 2003–2024 4Runner, and 2003–2023 Lexus GX owners running 1–3 inches of rear lift who want externally adjustable, rebuildable bypass performance for overlanding, high-speed off-road, or mixed on- and off-road driving.
These shocks do not fit vehicles equipped with factory rear air suspension. Those applications require a rear coil conversion (ICON part 56110) and rear coil springs (ICON part 52700 or 52800) before these shocks can be installed. Vehicles equipped with the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) additionally require ICON rear track bar part 54200. These shocks are not compatible with stock ride height or lifts outside the 1–3 inch range stated above.
Common Questions
Do these shocks fit a 4Runner with factory rear air suspension?
The ICON 59910P rear shocks are not compatible with factory rear air suspension as installed. Vehicles with rear air suspension require a rear coil conversion using ICON part 56110 and rear coil springs (ICON part 52700 or 52800) before these shocks can be fitted.
What lift height is required for these shocks to fit correctly?
The ICON Omega Bypass rear shocks (59910P) are configured for 1–3 inches of rear lift over stock ride height on the FJ Cruiser, 4Runner, and Lexus GX applications listed. They are not designed for stock height or for lifts outside that range.
Do KDSS-equipped 4Runners need any additional parts?
Yes. Vehicles equipped with the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) require the ICON rear track bar (part 54200) in addition to these shocks. Installing the 59910P shocks alone on a KDSS vehicle is not sufficient.
How many adjustment positions does the bypass valve offer, and do I need tools?
The ICON Bypass Valve on these rear shocks provides 28 detented positions at quarter-turn increments. All adjustments are made by hand with no tools required, so ride character can be changed trailside or in a parking lot without removing the shock.
Are these shocks rebuildable, and can the valving be changed?
Every ICON Omega Series shock, including the 59910P, is 100% rebuildable and 100% revalveable. Bypass tubes are also individually replaceable if damaged, so the shock body does not need to be replaced after a trail impact to the tube.
