The DV8 Xtract Hitch Skid Plate is a dual-purpose 6061-T6 billet aluminum skid plate that mounts to any standard 2-inch hitch receiver via a 5/8-inch pin, protecting the hitch from rock contact while adding a 13,000 lb working-load-limit recovery point. The single-piece design is available in Black, Red, or Raw finishes, and the Delrin skid pad is replaceable or upgradeable without replacing the entire unit.

Protection Where Your Hitch Hits First

When a hitch drags across rock, the damage accumulates fast: gouged metal, bent receivers, and a hitch that no longer seats a ball or receiver accessory cleanly. The Xtract Hitch Skid Plate places a 1-1/4-inch-thick aluminum body between the receiver and the terrain, with a 0.5-inch Delrin skid pad on the contact face. Delrin is a low-friction polymer: it slides across rock rather than biting into it, absorbing the scrape so the aluminum body and your vehicle's receiver tube do not. The result is a hitch that survives repeated rock contact in a condition that still works when you need it.

A Recovery Point You Can Count On

The Xtract Hitch Skid Plate adds a 1-inch-thick shackle mount sized for a 3/4-inch D-ring, rated to a 13,000 lb working load limit. Mounting directly to the hitch receiver means the recovery load transfers into the vehicle's frame-mounted hitch structure rather than a bumper or tow hook. A soft shackle is recommended for this mount, though a standard metal shackle is compatible. The D-ring itself is not included and must be sourced separately.

Replaceable Pad, No Need to Replace the Whole Unit

The Delrin skid pad is a wear item by design. When it wears down from repeated trail contact, a replacement Delrin pad (UNHS-DPAD) swaps in without replacing the aluminum body. For more demanding use, an aluminum skid pad (UNHS-APAD) is available as an upgrade. Both replacement and upgrade pads are sold separately.

Features

  • Single-piece 6061-T6 billet aluminum body: machined from a single billet for a skid plate and recovery mount that share one structural unit
  • Replaceable Delrin skid pad: 0.5-inch low-friction pad absorbs rock contact; replacement (UNHS-DPAD) and aluminum upgrade (UNHS-APAD) pads sold separately
  • 1-inch-thick D-ring shackle mount: accepts a 3/4-inch D-ring with a 13,000 lb working load limit
  • 2-inch receiver mount: secures with a 5/8-inch hitch pin (pin not included)
  • Three finish options: Black, Red, or Raw aluminum

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Xtract Hitch Skid Plate suits overlanders and off-road drivers whose vehicle has a standard 2-inch hitch receiver and who want to protect that receiver from rock damage while adding a rated rear recovery point. The three finish options make it adaptable to builds with different aesthetic requirements.

This skid plate does not fit 2.5-inch hitch receivers, which are common on 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks, and a reducer sleeve does not resolve the incompatibility. Some 2-inch OEM and aftermarket hitches with a gusset on the underside may also prevent proper fitment; the 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma OEM hitch is a confirmed incompatible example. The 5/8-inch hitch pin and D-ring shackle are not included. WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead and lead compounds, DEHP, and bisphenol A (BPA), which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Common Questions

What size hitch receiver does the Xtract Hitch Skid Plate fit?

The DV8 Xtract Hitch Skid Plate is designed for standard 2-inch hitch receivers and mounts with a 5/8-inch hitch pin. It is not compatible with 2.5-inch receivers (a size common on 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks), and a reducer sleeve does not resolve the incompatibility.

Is the hitch pin included?

No. The Xtract Hitch Skid Plate requires a 5/8-inch hitch pin to secure it in the receiver, and that pin is not included in the package. A standard 5/8-inch receiver pin must be sourced separately before installation.

What is the working load limit for the recovery point?

The shackle mount on the Xtract Hitch Skid Plate is rated to a 13,000 lb working load limit. The mount accepts a 3/4-inch D-ring; a soft shackle is recommended, though a standard metal shackle is also compatible. The D-ring is not included.

Will this fit a hitch that has a gusset on the underside?

Some OEM and aftermarket 2-inch hitches include a gusset on the underside that can prevent the Xtract Hitch Skid Plate from seating properly. The 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma OEM hitch is a confirmed incompatible example. Check the underside of your specific hitch before ordering.

Can the skid pad be replaced or upgraded?

Yes. The Delrin skid pad on the Xtract Hitch Skid Plate is designed to be replaced when worn. A replacement Delrin pad (UNHS-DPAD) and an aluminum upgrade pad (UNHS-APAD) are both available separately, so the aluminum body does not need to be replaced when the pad wears out.
