The solid steel shank includes four pin holes so the shackle can be set in the position the application requires. On vehicles with stock bumpers, the shank can be recessed deeper into the receiver opening for a lower-profile fit. On vehicles with aftermarket bumpers where the shackle must protrude to clear the bumper face, the outermost pin hole adds approximately 1-1/2 inches of additional extension, bringing the shackle into a workable position without modification.
