It delivers over 200 lumens through dual beam modes: a focused spot beam for distance and a 45-degree downcast beam for close-range tasks, with run times up to 100 hours on low. The 2785 is available in High Visibility Yellow and Black.

Two Beams, One Headlamp

The 2785 runs two independent LED beams. The main spot beam throws focused light at distance, useful when navigating terrain or scanning a campsite. The Downcast LED angles 45 degrees toward the ground, spreading light along walking paths, across a page, or between two people talking face to face without blinding either one. Both beams are selectable at high, medium, or low, so the headlamp adapts to the task rather than forcing a compromise.

Built-In Safety Signals

A rear-facing red LED makes the 2785 visible to anyone approaching from behind, a meaningful feature on roadsides, trail crossings, or active job sites. The battery pack carries a three-LED indicator that shows charge level at a glance before a shift or trip starts, so a dead-battery surprise mid-task is avoidable. The flashing mode adds a further visibility option when steady light is not needed.

Intrinsically Safe Certifications

Class I, Division 1 and IECEx certification means the 2785 is rated for use in environments where flammable gases or vapors may be present. This certification reflects a formal design and testing standard that matters to anyone working in or around fuel, chemical, or industrial settings. The polycarbonate body, shroud, and lens are paired with a gasket seal that supports this rating.

Features

Dual LED beams: spot main beam and 45-degree Downcast LED, each with high, medium, and low settings

Pivoting head: 60-degree range of directional adjustment

Rear red LED: rear-facing visibility signal for added safety

Battery level indicator: three blue LEDs on the rear-mounted battery pack

Cloth and rubber straps: both strap types included for fit preference

Batteries included: four AA alkaline batteries included in the box

Specifications

Specification

Value

Certifications

Class I, Division 1 / IECEx (intrinsically safe)

Light Modes

High / Medium / Low / Downcast / Spot / Flashing

Max Output

Over 200 lumens

Max Run Time

Up to 100 hours (low setting)

Head Pivot Range

60 degrees

Switch Type

Rotary / Push Button

Lamp Type

LED

Battery

4 × AA alkaline (included), 6.0 V, not rechargeable

Battery Level Indicator

3 blue LEDs

Weight (with batteries)

8.8 oz (249 g)

Weight (without batteries)

6.6 oz (187 g)

Length

3.00 in (7.6 cm)

Body / Shroud / Lens Material

Polycarbonate (PC)

Seal

Gasket

Straps Included

Cloth and rubber

Colors Available

High Visibility Yellow, Black

Warranty

Limited Lifetime

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Pelican 2785 suits workers and outdoor users who need a certified intrinsically safe headlamp for oil and gas, chemical, mining, or industrial settings where flammable atmospheres are a concern, as well as overlanders and campers who want dual-beam flexibility, a long low-setting run time, and a rear safety signal in one headlamp that runs on standard AA batteries.

The 2785 is not rechargeable and does not accept a USB or DC charging input; users who prefer a rechargeable headlamp will need a different model. No IP or submersion rating is stated for this headlamp, so waterproofing beyond the gasket seal should not be assumed.

Common Questions

What is the Downcast beam and when would I use it?

The Pelican 2785's Downcast LED projects light at a fixed 45-degree downward angle rather than straight ahead. This makes it well suited for walking a path without blinding yourself on reflective surfaces, reading a map or book at close range, or talking with another person without shining light directly in their face. It is a separate beam from the main spot and can be set to high, medium, or low independently.

What does Class I, Division 1 / IECEx certified mean for a headlamp?

Class I, Division 1 and IECEx are intrinsic safety certifications indicating the Pelican 2785 headlamp is designed and tested for use in locations where flammable gases or vapors may be present in the air under normal operating conditions. This is a formal engineering and testing standard, not a general durability rating, and it distinguishes the 2785 from standard consumer headlamps that carry no such certification.

How long do the batteries last, and what type does the 2785 use?

The Pelican 2785 headlamp runs on four AA alkaline batteries, which are included in the box. Run time reaches up to 100 hours on the low setting. The headlamp is not rechargeable, so replacement AA batteries are the only power source. A three-LED battery level indicator on the rear pack lets you check remaining charge before heading out.

Can I adjust the angle of the beam?

Yes. The Pelican 2785's head pivots through a 60-degree range, letting you direct the main spot beam up or down to suit your task or terrain. The Downcast LED is fixed at its 45-degree downward angle by design and does not pivot independently.

What straps are included, and can the headlamp be worn different ways?

The Pelican 2785 ships with both cloth and rubber straps, giving you the option to choose based on comfort preference or the type of headgear you are wearing it over. No additional mounting accessories are included beyond these two strap types.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0691/2203/1686/files/pelican-2785-high-lumens-led-headlamp-sq.jpg?v=1791323493
