exotac-bmqr-380-magnetic-quick-release-keychain
Exotac BMQR .380 Magnetic Quick Release Keychain

The Exotac BMQR .380 is a magnetic quick-release for keychains, machined from non-corrosive stainless steel with a copper bullet, and modeled on the profile of a .380 caliber cartridge. It separates a set of keys (valet keys, a shared house key, a car key you hand off regularly) in one deliberate pull rather than wrestling with a split ring. It is available as a single unit, in a 3-pack, or a 5-pack, each optionally bundled with the Exotac FREEKey Slim System.

Built from the Right Materials

The casing is machined from non-corrosive stainless steel and the bullet is copper, with laser-marked lettering that will not scratch off over time. For a small object that lives in a pocket or on a keychain every day, material choice matters: stainless resists the moisture and friction of daily carry, and laser-marked text holds up where printed or painted finishes eventually fail. The result is a piece that looks and functions the same years in as it does on day one.

One-Second Key Separation

The two halves join with a magnet strong enough to hold through normal carry and pocket movement, and separate cleanly with a deliberate pull. The magnet holds passively and releases intentionally, which is what makes a magnetic quick-release useful rather than just novel. Handing off a valet key, leaving a car key at a shop, or grabbing just one key for a run becomes a one-second operation instead of a fingernail exercise on a split ring.

Designed for the FREEKey Slim System, Works on Standard Rings

The BMQR .380 is sized to fit Exotac FREEKey Slim System rings, which is the smoothest pairing: group a key set on FREEKey accessory rings, then clip that group to one half of the BMQR for a clean, low-profile carry setup. It also attaches to standard key rings, so it works without the FREEKey system if you already carry a conventional ring.

Features

Stainless steel casing: non-corrosive, machined to a .380 cartridge profile

Copper bullet: laser-marked lettering that will not scratch off

Magnetic quick-release: holds through normal carry, separates with a deliberate pull

FREEKey Slim System compatible: sized for FREEKey rings; also fits standard key rings

Made in the USA: machined in Atlanta, Georgia

Lifetime warranty: covered by Exotac's limited lifetime warranty

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Casing material

Non-corrosive stainless steel

Bullet material

Copper

Finish

Laser-marked lettering

Form

Modeled on a .380 caliber cartridge profile

Compatibility

Exotac FREEKey Slim System rings; standard key rings

Origin

Made in USA (Atlanta, Georgia)

Warranty

Exotac limited lifetime warranty

California Proposition 65 Warning: This product can expose you to chemicals including carbon monoxide, lead and lead components, which are known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. It pairs particularly well with the Exotac FREEKey Slim System for a complete low-profile carry setup, and works equally well as a standalone addition to a standard key ring.

The BMQR .380 is not a locking security device. The magnetic connection is designed to release with a deliberate pull, so it is not suited for applications where a key set must stay attached under force or without the owner's intent. The FREEKey Slim System is not included unless you select a bundle variant.

Common Questions

What is the BMQR .380 actually for?

The Exotac BMQR .380 is a magnetic quick-release that lets you separate one key or key set from the rest in a single pull, without opening a split ring.
